No he is not better. It is simply because he is THE ONLY FOCUS he scores so much. If we played with Tevez only, Aguero only or Balo or Dzeko only as our MAIN focus they would bag plenty. But we play as a team meaning any one can score. Fuck the wankest over Van Persie great player but I would not swap what we have for him.

It is not just a matter of goals, he is class all round. Sets up goals, opens space for others (teams cannot let him shoot so must close him down), usually fantastic at dead balls. Good range of passing. Has the vision to spot passes. Scores vital goals when the team needs it. Just a fantastic footballer.

I give you Toure probably second best player in the league. Tevez, Aguero and Silva up there in the top 5 as well. Though, I don't think Tevez fits your system as well.

Yaya Toure is better than RvP. As a footballer, person and has the credentials to back it up. Everything you describe RvP as (passing, dead ball, creating space) we have in a holding fucking midfielder.

You seriously calling Toure a holding midfielder? The guy is a complete midfielder. One of the best in the world in the very literal sense. Xavi and Schweinsteiger might be the only two better in the world.

LOL.
If you think that then fine. Watch RVP get 30 league goals this season.

Rooney is quite capable of that as well. Not sure what your point is.
Apart from heading. RVP is better than Rooney at every aspect of the game. Every other aspect of the game. Rooney will play really poorly for a quarter of the season at least and even at his best as I said before RVP better at every other aspect.

Disagree. Rooney has more to his game than RVP and yet scores just as many.

Lol. Don't worry blues. Scraped a win there. Total shit. Papering cracks to be honest. Any team with half a backbone that doesn't tense up as half as they did today will beat them..........but to be fair RSVP bailed them out, and well worth the monies

RVP is their only goalscorer..last year he was Arsenals only goalscorer..

Did Arsenal win the league ??

stop flapping you lot.

I think some of the overreactions are ridiculous but that's just not true though is it? For a start Rooney was 2nd top goalscorer behind Van Persie last season.

It's clear they are trying to blast teams away with firepower and they'll probably succeed against most who are shit scared and roll over like Southamptom did in the last 15 today. What will be interesting is what they do against the better teams. Personally I think they'll sit back and try to counter with Valencia, Rooney and Van Persie the way they did with Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez. Whether it'll work nobody really knows. Anybody who looks and says "their midfield is weak they can't compete" is being very naive although they're right in saying their midfield is weak don't think for one minute Taggart hasn't got a strategy in mind that will at worst see them there or there abouts in every competition.

Call me a rag if you like, just think it'll be another tight one.

When Van Persie scores a hattrick against Barca, Madrid or us I will call him better than what we have. Not against tired legs that were playing in the Championship and a clueless manager who cannot defend set plays. Tevez can score against ANY team as can Aguero as can Yaya can Van Persie?

Well thank fuck you're not our manager.

That picture of the joker is somewhere.....

He has a point. We were all lauding the Aguero/Dzeko partnership at the beginning of last season because when everything clicks, it's an incredibly well balanced team. Tevez came back and helped out when we were going through a rough patch because he's a warrior, and he's doing it when we're sub-par again now. But in the perfect 'Mancini' system, I'm not so sure Tevez belongs in there either. Though this is coming from someone who doesn't believe Tevez and Aguero is our best partnership, so you can ignore the above if that's how you feel.

I agree with this. Mancini would like a 'better Dzeko' partnering Aguero I believe. Tevez is world class though and so plays and like you said is a warrior. Balotelli could possibly be this player in the future, but he needs to put in a lot of work.
