Harry Redknapp called Talksport enraged that the job isn't going to an Englishman and even quoted Gerrard or Lampard for the job. A simple google search of Redknapp, Klopp, England job finds an article, only months old in support of Klopp for England. Why does nobody hold anybody accountable?

It’s not that strange to want the England team coach to be English. Most countries in the world have managers from within.

We’ve also invested millions on St George’s park and English coaches.

Tuchel could end up being great btw, but im not convinced.

So who is the great English manager that could win on the big stage? Howe, Potter, Fat Sam, or is Howard Wilkinson still alive?
Tuchel has won loads of stuff as a top level manager and no living English manager comes anywhere near. I'd much prefer an English manager, but there isn't a good one available.

We had "success" in spite of Southgate, not because of him. We also lost every time we faced a good side. You could argue that a better manager, a manager with a CV that is good enough for the job, would have had more tactical nous to get us over the line. I am English, can I have the job then?

Absolutely this, will be hated no matter what. Such is the norm nowadays.

I’m happy with this appointment, won league titles abroad , won champions league - FA always accused of lacking ambition with appointments, proving those wrong again.

Honestly not sure what to expect as his last few jobs have ended a bit weird, but overall I like the type of football mind he has so I'm open to see what he can do.

Think it's also good for us as the FA clearly approached Pep first and the fact he said no makes me believe that a contract extension is on the way.
