Three more years before we start to dominate...

The biggest factor in producing a crop of world beating youth players isn't the facilities, or the coaching. It's luck. Since United's youth team of the early 90's that swept all before them, they've produced very little, despite being the world's 'biggest club'. In fact, it could be argued that City's academy has produced as much as Utd's over the last 10 years.

The other two crucial factors are 1. Time and 2. Our scouting approach. It will take 5 to 10 years to get a meaningful return from the new academy. More immediately, an effective approach to convince talented youngsters to join us (basically bribing the parents) will be needed to compete with the best.

In the meantime, the most important immediate job is to ratchet up the income with lucrative sponsorship deals to enable us to keep buying the best until the academy produces.

you only have to look at ADUG,ETIHAD or any other business in abu dhabi and abu dhabi itself..getting bigger and more successful every day..just like mcfc our owners dont do second best

In many instances its not who comes through the youth system that play for City, it's how much they are worth if they don't make the first team.

Because costs aren't related to FFPR...

City will just throw millions in wages and inducements to the best talent around the world.

Doesn't really matter if they don't make it here, they will have a future transfer value.

Room for 400 - Printing money

This time next year, the present season will be naught but a shite memory.

Hence the reason why one of the first jobs for Txiki was to set up the scouting network i was talking about in South America, get the talent from source and print the money.

I thought transfer fees, signing on fees and wages for academy players were still part of the FFP calculations. The rest (wages of coaching staff, academy infrastructure and maintenance etc) is excluded.

You are so simple kiam. A classic new generation fan brought up playing football manager on the pc. You are presuming so many things without thinking. This is what you want, a dream and tbh embarrassing. I'm in a foul mood after the weekend and posts like this wind me up.
Clueless.

But thanks for letting me know I have managed to you wind you up it always puts a smile on my face.

Just need 2 things.
1. Get alot of ex city players set up as managers for mid table PL to championship clubs.
2. Campus starts to churn out players. Those good enough for a "Sunderland" but not quite good enough for us, sell to ex City players managing said team for 5 million a pop.

Cash rolls in.

(ok being abit sarcastic but in truth we would love for every youngster to make it but that wont happen but if we produce a higher qaulity of player, i am sure we could offload the ones not quite good enough for us for a fair price to other teams)
