Three more years before we start to dominate...

Glass half full for me......... Lets not forget where we have come from . We have not played well this season but we are second in the league, outside chance of retaining, still in the cup .

Keep the faith !

This time next year, the present season will be naught but a shite memory.

exactly pam, i started a thread a few weeks back saying that this season will go down and be looked upon as a transitional one only.
So you win the league, knock Man United off their perch, get to the summit of the English game and have a season of transition?

We didn't need fucking transition, we needed to consolidate ourselves as number one and a force in Europe. All it needed was to keep hold of what we had, a couple of good signings and some good management.

This season will go down as one of transition when we get a manager in who can match our ambitions, rather than this one who killed the golden goose.

Dismantle a title winning team, good idea. We won the league on goal difference, they have improved their team and we haven't, so we were never going to retain the league !

We are already a step behind Chelsea and the rags now due to our summer signings which means the new ffp restrictions will hit us much harder than people think. We don't have to just go and buy a couple of top players each year as some folk imagine we need either half the squad rebuilding or a magical fresh idea from somewhere as to how to rearrange our top class players into a top class outfit.

There is a patch of land with bull dozers on it at the moment and we should not forget it because it represents the future of our club and the end of being dominated by the red bureaucrats at the FA and UEFA.

Once we become self sustaining both financially and on the pitch with the influx of young talent our new academy will bring we will take over from the rag scumbags, the fact is at the moment we can't because the FFPR are designed to help clubs with the greatest turnovers and that eventually will include us.

We have had a taste of success and it was great but most must have known it was going to be short lived with these new rules coming in to stop us. Our owners will be rubbing their hands at the fact it was so easy and ahead of schedule for us to win the premier league.

Champions leagues are won when you are seeded and end up with an easier draw due to our lack of experience we don't get that yet but given a couple more years it will fall into place and we will start seeing progression.

The club have a plan in place they never intended to spend big this year and knew they would have to let one or two go to clear the decks the result is what it is we have not been able to compete but sometimes you have to take a step back.

All blues have been so patient for so long now so just hang on a bit longer and trust me with our magnificent owner we will only end up dominating the British game for years. Remember fergie is on his last legs and soon these rag fans will be slammed back down to earth with an inexperienced new manager.

Patience is the key it's coming.

In far fewer words, this is exactly what I am currently telling rags..... Enjoy the moment, we are going nowhere .. The day that they lose their decrepit manager is the day the playing field is levelled..... With Moyes installed they can have a taste of mediocrity

Well said...

This summer will see us right the wrongs of last summer.
I expect a ruthless clear out.

The likes of Dzeko, Tevez, Nasri, Lescott, Panti, Sinclair will all be shipped out.
These guys will cover the majority of our summer signings.
The likes of Cavani, Isco, Bale, Ogbonna, Begovic, Benat, Thiago, and De Rossi will be our major targets.. We should land three or four of them.

These should allow us to regain our title.. And provide the basis for many more.

Once the immediate squad is complete. We then start to really progress with the academy. if this goes to plan, after ten or so years the bulk of our squad should be homegrown.

This summer is vital for our growth, and I have every faith that the board know it's importance.

Spending the money now will mean we can enjoy the fruits later.. When our academy is producing top talent, the money we spent this summer will all be made back.

This season may have been a blip, but our plans for the future still remain.

You are so simple kiam. A classic new generation fan brought up playing football manager on the pc. You are presuming so many things without thinking. This is what you want, a dream and tbh embarrassing. I'm in a foul mood after the weekend and posts like this wind me up.
Clueless.

But thanks for letting me know I have managed to you wind you up it always puts a smile on my face.

Clueless. Why? Because I don't believe we will be dominating the world in three years. I actually hope you are right but if you really believe we will have a conveyor belt of world beaters that quickly then you obviously know nothing about football.

It takes clubs decades to get things right, why would we do it in three? Ah yes, you haven't mentioned this. Your theory is the sheik, plus cash, plus new academy equals domination. Clubs take players on age ten and sometimes below, how can they be stars in three years?

Just because you did it on football manager doesn't mean it will happen in real life.

I despair when I read your stuff sometimes. I sometimes think you are one big Clarke, are you?

Assuming FFP doesn't screw us, and we manage to progress in th champions league to advance our seeding. Of course we need a dedicated team to progress and currently we don't seem to have that, another thing is most fans here seem to assume our youth system will automatically produce first teamers, whereas its obvious by looking at other teams across Europe that a good youth system does not guarantee quality products yearly or even regularly.

We should remember where we came from and not just go out and buy the best players around, give youth a chance even now, at least those players will play with heart unlike some of the overpaid superstars we have now, we need to make a team and not a group of individuals...something we seem to have missed the mark on since the takeover

Chelsea??? Does the league table tell you anything about how we compare to them atm? They've had home draws to Reading, home defeats to Swansea, last minute equalisers to Brentford. And you're saying we're a step behind. What the flying fridge magnet could you possibly mean by this?!
