Three more years before we start to dominate...

All very well having the academy and hopefully producing the next generation of stars if your not gonna play them. How many of you truely believe mancini would give them a fair crack? Atm I forsee a future of us producing stars for our rivals.

-- Tue Feb 12, 2013 2:39 am --

All very well having the academy and hopefully producing the next generation of stars if your not gonna play them. I think the time frame depends on what is done with the squad and Mancini. If we can improve the squad whilst clearing out some of the less motivated players, and improve on the management situation (lets face it, it needs improving), then we can be back in the driver's seat come August this year.

After decades of drought, I'm not bothered about domination. It will never happen anyway.

I'm quite happy with the way things have gone in the last few years, and I'm sure we will enjoy success in the future.

We may be lucky and win the cup final later this year, but if we don't get to Wembley, and we probably won't, we will still have next season to look forward to.

It's good being a blue at the moment, and I'm loving every minute of it.

We won't win trophies every year, it just never happens, but at least we are in with a decent shout of success these days.

perhaps that is why there might be a new manager coming in, one who will give people like Rekik, Lopes, Guidetti a fair crack at the whip.

Ok......

Lopes is 16 and still learning his game.

Rekik is not yet as good as any of our senior centrehalves.

Guidetti is not fit.

Anyone else you care to add?

Technically I agree with all that however the point regarding Rekik, he's not as good as our centre backs but Garcia is? I'm not asking to make these lads starters week in and out but give them a chance for crying out loud and that doesn't mean bringing them on in injury time either. Surely someone at the club,Henshall say, could have taken Sinclair's spot for the amount he's played we really needed to spend 7-8millon on a sub?

Others id like to see blooded from time to time, saurez and razak.

you only have to look at ADUG,ETIHAD or any other business in abu dhabi and abu dhabi itself..getting bigger and more successful every day..just like mcfc our owners dont do second best

They do this year ;)

I agree with the general theme of this thread - that it will take time to get there but we are going to be one of the top teams in the future.

Many others seem to think that all the other teams will simply step aside and let us be top dog. Get real is what I say to them.

No team can expect to win something every year. All you can do is make sure you are there are thereabouts and hope that you get a couple of slices of lady luck along the way.

Like many others I am enjoying the journey. Compared to a couple of years ago. We are now watching City play Real madrid on a Wednesday night not Crewe.

Because costs aren't related to FFPR...

City will just throw millions in wages and inducements to the best talent around the world.

Doesn't really matter if they don't make it here, they will have a future transfer value.

Room for 400 - Printing money

Hence the reason why one of the first jobs for Txiki was to set up the scouting network i was talking about in South America, get the talent from source and print the money.

It's a genius move.

By young promising players for £3-7m etc, pay good wages for age and not of which is included as FFP losses. Sell for £10+m and it counts as revenue, it's a clever move. Not only will we get the pick of the crop but we will also make tens of millions each season from sales of players which in itself is a great earner. Most likely outgoing players will have a Barca style buy-back or first option clause too.
