Three years of bad transfer dealings

FFP has stopped us going to the next level, hence why we haven't really improved from a few years ago.

We need to be signing players who are better than what we currently have, but other than Fernandinho, we haven't really done that. Fernando is no better than fernandinho. Mangala may eventually be world class and only time will tell. The likes of Jovetic, Sagna, Caballero are no better than what we already have.

Look at what Mourinho has done since he returned: He signed the likes of Matic, Fabregas and Costa. All 3 of them would arguably get into our team. Linked with Hazard, Fabregas, Isco and Sanchez over the past few years but just imagine our team with them in there, we'd be challenging for the CL, dominating English football. Instead we end up with signing the likes of Navas and Sinclair.

Id get rid of a few in summer: Caballero, either of the left backs, Sagna, Navas, Jovetic. Other fringe players like Sinclair will go. Think we may end up losing Milner as well. We'll have to cash in on Yaya at some point.

But then the million dollar question - Who out there is better than them, that we can get without paying stupid money for? Think Reus is out of contract? The likes of Pogba and Barkley would cost silly money. Would love us to look at the likes of Ward-Prowse from Southampton as a squad player - Home grown, good on the ball, takes a great set piece. Not good enough yet to get into our 1st team but he'd be more effective off the bench and one for the future definitely.

*Puts tin hat on*

We need to hope when this bosman lawyer takes uefa to court over FFP he wins, that will be it all. We haven't progressed due to FFP and that is what is stopping us, imagine in the summer we signed Vidal instead of Fernando, Hummels instead of Mangala and someone the likes of Reus we would be on for world domination. We can't, therefore we aren't.

To answer the question think Tixi post must have been closed as everyone who had an opinion got insulted or called a rag. We have wasted too much in players. Fernandiniho, Mangala etc should be world class taking us close to Real Madrid level for what we paid. If the players arnt available at the right price buy someone else or even better wait. Look at Southampton who have picked up some bargains.

I for one, wont over react or blame one man.
After the initial splurge FFP has restricted us and the club has (rightly) brought in players of a lesser cost with potential and focussed on making sure we are profitable so that FFP holds us back for as little time as possible.
Sure, there have been some shockers (mainly the summer after the first title) but I the current crop can become class players. Mangala has the ability, as does Fernando. The whole team is on a bad run and we have been decimated by injuries all year.
In the next few windows I think we will see us showing some muscle again, but this is only possible to great work by the club over the last few years to get us making money.
2nd in the league and no silverware for 1 year...i can deal with that.

Whilst FFP clearly hasn't helped our cause we have still spent close to £170 million since Mancini won the league.

Also, big earners like Tevez, Adebayor, Barry and Lescott have all left. So our wage bill should not be higher either.

We had a 25 page thread on our transfer dealings this weeks

According to most people it was wind up thread and our transfer dealings haven't been questionable

Blue tinted glasses at its finest

We've gone backwards apart from a handful of decent performances this season

Incidentally what became of that thread?

Looks like it's been pulled or deleted

Today has just reiterated the fact that our transfer business has been piss poor for 3 seasons and the team is going backwards

A handful of decent performances but we've been poor all season and the fact we are in 2nd is down to the quality of the league being pretty average this season
