there was a fair few kids (pre-teens) caught up in the euphoria tonight

Sorry pal but that's bullshit. It was fully grown cunts.

About half of the placards in the away end were thrown they werent all kids.

if the rest of us were clapping when the announcement was made in the second half about being thrown out if you did it, imagine what the rest of the world thought. we're hated enough as it is at the minute!

As far as ill advised promotions go, it could have been worse.

11:59 EST: The U.S. State Department has just announced they are recalling Ambassador Louis B. Susman in protest over what spokesman Frank J. Turton III described as "scenes of carnage" and the "complete undermining of international norms" at the Etihad Arena, Manchester, U.K., last night. Mr. Turton concluded his brief remarks by stating this is exactly how Hitler came to power and the United States will not stand by and watch Europe descend into chaos: "never again" shouted an apoplectic Mr. Turton.

Some of you seem to completely miss the point by going on about "it's only paper". The problem is that objects - any objects - were being thrown onto the pitch after the club clearly asked people to stop doing so. That suggests to me that either the ref or the UEFA observer made reference to it at HT. As it continued to happen in the second half I imagine it will be included in the official report and so the club will face some sort of sanction, either a fine or a reprimand with a suspended fine.

Never a truer word spoken!

There will be no more cheesy cards and it could even be the end of inflatables.

The war is being won, comrades.

All we need is Ferris on film snorting charlie and taking it up the tradesman's.

-- Wed Oct 19, 2011 4:02 pm --

Top drawer.

Glad the Bluemoon wags are back.

By the way, was anyone treated for paper cuts?

There was nothing wrong with the idea! It looked great on TV and creating mosaics isn't "cheese" when teams like ARIS and Barcelona do it, is it?

The problem was just throwing them at players. Why not stick to throwing them at stewards, who seemed to see the funny side of it and were trying to catch them (at least in the east stand).

it started as a revenge thing against the showsec stewards that got out of hand , throwing at the villareal players was daft even if they were time wasting thats what euro teams do, cant see the club going down the placard route again! even tho it looked impressive...
