Ticket Loyalty Points

I honestly don’t think it’ll be any different at any of the big clubs in the country and across Europe. It’s a numbers game and cash is king.

The difference is that we don’t know. United probably have the biggest demand for their allocation of all clubs. And whatever else they may get wrong off the pitch, on this matter they have absolute transparency. Every single one of their away tickets are accounted for and made public knowledge where they’ve gone. All we ever get is a big list of people and organisations who get an unspecified share.

You’ll never, ever get full agreement on where tickets should go when demand outstrips supply. But I think it would remove a lot of the bad feeling if they were open and honest about exactly where they are going.

There should be more transparency but I know a rag who gets to every away game by buying tickets at inflated prices from fellow rags. There’s a small chance of getting found out but for the seller it’s a very lucrative risk.

Bill was spot on when he said the review of away tickets would result in a more unfair system / closed shop on points. Now we know the closed shop can pull through loads of additional tickets.

Credit to anyone who uses their initiative to get a ticket IMHO and the one improvement has been more tickets for 18-25s.

There is no perfect system but the introduction of Platinum only resulted in the loyalty points system being similarly discredited. I stuck with Gold as by buying loyalty points you yourself become part of the issue, sadly for reasons I fully understand others ‘bought’ loyalty. At that point the system was discredited.

Arguably, the low point for the point system was Aguero’s last game against Everton. Rather than having a few thousand tickets allocated to points at 22k, a few hundred were allocated to Blues with 22k, that I guess is a bit like having 25k now (with points inflation).

I would have just been short of the 20k at the time so this observation is not out of personal interest.

Kids don’t need points if their parent has very high points ( first window ) As long as they’ve got a season ticket.

Although I didn’t notice that many kids there today particularly.
I know they dont,i know an adult can " pull through " a kid while buying an away ticket,Iv managed to do it myself for my.nipper, but there appeared a lot of youngsters in our end yesterday.

It’s the young kids /teenagers who make the atmosphere we’ve all been there some of the oldies around me looked like they’d got out of bed in southern cemetery

I never knew that I thought all the tickets for the home match went into a ballot?

It certainly was a low point that game coming out of the pandemic,my son had seen his dad ( nhs ,me ) and his mum work on ITU for more than a year at that point in time,he desparately wanted to see agueros last home game, instead, people like esteemed kompany got tickets with his then girlfriend, lucky that wasnt it when we were all put in a ballot,A few thousand could have been given out to any key worker imho.

No mate. Plus the 2nd “ballot” wasn’t really a ballot.

I only bring this up because the people at City who go on about, “the integrity of the points system” make these sort of decisions.

Like I said, I’m all for people using their initiative to get tickets.
