I queued for 12hrs for my play off final ticket.
I got my semi final ticket online in 5mins on Wednesday morning.

Has it arrived yet? Don't gloat too soon. 31,000 tickets being sent in the post in a few days. Remember the post van theft. At least you had your tickets in your hand in 1999. It's not over till the fat lady sings. ;)

And be very wary if you're told "its in the post".

Last time a friend of mine was worried about the delay in receiving her tickets. Rang the ticket office on the Mon, Tues, Wed & Thurs before the match and each time was told "its in the post". On the Friday she rang again and was told "it was sent out about 10 days ago".

It turned out that she was out when the ticket was delivered and couldnt sign for it. So it went back to the Royal Mail sorting office. Unfortunately the card they left had fallen behind a large plant pot. She managed to get her tickets 10mins before the sorting office closed for the day, an hour before her train left for London.

Clearly it wasnt the club's fault that the card had fallen behind her plant pot. But the "its in the post" explanation was just a mantra, something to fob people off with.

How the hell was that a fob off?? The ticket clearly was in the post. I hope they've moved the pot plant. Maybe they should have checked there last time.

I feel for OP. It's shocking that they didn't just give him another ticket and refund the difference. I was on the phone nearly 3 hours but once I was through it was no trouble.

What on earth do people expect..the ticket office is miles better than what we used to have to it up with. Reds at work moan all the time about there tkt system...ours is miles better. We are selling a lot of tkts in a short space of time and the reality is there will be the odd problem, took me a while to get my semi final tkts but all online and despite system issues all went thru in the end....STOP MOANING!!!!!

Well the person that she spoke to on the Friday was able to find out that the ticket had been posted about 10 days earlier. If the people that she spoke to on the Thursday and Wednesday had checked they would obviously had realised that the tickets had been posted over a week earlier and should have already arrived. On the Monday it was probably reasonable for them to say its in the post but not later in the week

Now this may be a contentious answer to the OP but............. If you were on the phone with 2 phones and other people were doing a similar thing is it any wonder that there were delays? You x 2 x 50 means that 100 phone LINES were potentially being held up!

I have never had any problems with our ticket office and they have gone out of their way to help me out on 2 occasions in the past 3 months alone.

Phoned up at 9am on Monday told I was 17 in the queue, automated countdown kept you informed of your position, until it was your turn.
They asked me where we wanted to sit in the gound
7 tickets booked by 0910am,received them on Thursday.
I dont think that is bad service

Telephone is easier than queuing at the ground, but purchasing online is even easier and there's no fee. I know you can't buy for some juniors online

Not a good thing to happen. If you think that 30,000 + tickets to shift then things will pop up like this.

I have had no proplems with ticket office.

This. My transaction was perfect and I WAS told what number I was in the queue.

I thought it was good he got the call from City and I can understand how different people would not be able to process other tickets but also understand the frustrations.

It's not perfect and, really this is the first big test, and I am sure City will learn from the things that have gone wrong because it's a 100% better than queueing round a freezing concourse which was the best option only two years ago.

Edit - and they've arrived in the post although addressed to my son. Nice of him to pick up the tab then!!

Nothing changes and this is why more and more people are fucking it off! We are more backward now than when we reached the 1999 play off final.

I queued for 12hrs for my play off final ticket.

I queued for about 15 hrs last season for the Semi and Final tickets, five minutes on Wednesday and the ticket's dropped through the letter box this morning. It's what I call the 'dream move'!
