But you're being naive again if you think the club didn't do their homework on away tickets. They were mostly very coy about their methods and I'm not going to talk about what little they did tell us but I'd be monitoring social media sites, having 'spotters' at games and doing test buying, among other things. Their evidence indicated that 25-30% of away tickets were being passed on and that's completely unacceptable. I know at least 2 former mods on here (not anyone who's currently moderating I hasten to add) were doing it regularly.

There was one game (might have been Cardiff away) where there were over 100 tickets available on this forum alone. I think that game (it was a 3pm kickoff on a Saturday) went to general sale and I was glad of the chance to go.

Spotters - ahahaha - my arse

There was one prominent City tickets page on Facebook - Daz something.

That’s all the evidence they based the decision on.

For someone in your previously elected position, to call someone naive, for expecting away tickets to go to people who have accrued loyalty points over a number of years, rather than sponsors, tells us everything we all need to know.

As stated above, home tickets to sponsors - and away tickets to points holders is a really simple system that should be followed.

No sponsor is going to refuse to sponsor us because they no longer get away tickets. The desperation to fill corporate hospitality is where I think all the away tickets are going.

It’s what City can charge sponsors that is more significant to them. For example, when Joe’s opened (hospitality I know) there was no mention of ticket benefits. Years on and there is, for example, a bigger differential in price between Joe’s and 93:20 (with ticket benefits part of the marketing for Joes).

Priority for away games (£30 tickets) is a big perk even though we may not like it. Last season for Liverpool Away, agencies were adverting pairs of tickets for £1,500. I’ve no idea where the touts got the tickets from but there’s plenty of money in it (for them and whoever sourced the tickets).
 
I’m mildly interested in what allocation the “Former players “ get?

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that the club look after former players. Organise get togethers/ piss ups for them. Great. Give them all season tickets for free if they like. Great.

But give them all tickets for in demand away games to pass on/ sell, to random blokes they know? Not so great.

Apart from the very biggest games. ( Brighton away for the league ) how often do you see any of them in an away end?

We had to go out of our way to collect tickets in Paris about 8 years ago, but there were no queues when we got to the venue. We had to queue for around an hour in Glasgow later that season and it started to rain while we were queueing outside. The club employees organising the ticket distribution seemed to be enjoying their moment of power over the real supporters. - It has been claimed that holders of hospitality season tickets and box holders did not have to queue with the common rabble, but I don't think that has ever been proven.

I still believe the prime issue to be resolved is that of third party "ticket partners" having access to scarce away tickets, whether these are sold at a profit or not. Allocating any tickets to these organisations is legalised touting and is an insult to loyal supporters. We don't need help selling tickets for at least 90% of our away games so why ruin the reputation of the club for a few quid extra from these touts.

I didn’t have a hospitality ticket per se for Celtic but I can confirm I wasn’t required to go to the collection point. Unsure if that was extending to corporate etc I don’t know.

I Was just handed my ticket in the Hilton by a city member of staff.
 
I don't have a problem with corporates or ex players getting some away tickets as long as it is not excessive and everything is transparent. The lack of transparency is a problem for the club. I don't have a problem with genuine fans who can't make matches for genuine reasons occasionally selling to fellow Blues at face value. But no one can defend hundreds of tickets ending up on touting sites being sold for hundreds of pounds.
 
Was in a meeting at 10 so couldn't see but currently only 990 tickets left for Palace out of an allocation of 2,687. There may be some restricted tickets to go on sale later but it looks like the full 60% (1,612) that should have gone to points hasn't unless we have a lot of fans on 30k+ and of course the 18 - 25 has sold out already. Still doesn't seem right especially as criteria goes to 21k. But as there is no transparency nobody really has a clue.

There will be a good few hundred that are classed as restricted view to go on after these are sold.

Spotted this on Twitter before which backs up the less fashionable aspect of Palace(a)

We’d all love for away tickets to be 100% sold by loyalty points, but in the modern, greed is good world, in which we live, that isn’t going to happen. If a corporate paying tens of thousands of pounds a season, or a sponsor pumping money into the club wants four tickets for Liverpool away, then they will get them, we might not like it but they will. However there should be mechanisms put in place to ensure that they use them legitimately and aren’t sourcing them to make a profit.

There is a battle to be fought with the club over this and where they could meet us half way is the guarantee of 60% sold via loyalty points, and transparency over who has got what tickets. Anybody found to be putting tickets on resale sites should be sanctioned and barred from applying for a designated period, irrespective of whether they are bog standard general admission season ticket holders or corporate, sponsors etc.

I don’t think that’s too much for us as supporters to ask of the club.

Unfortunately that the price you pay if you put your self forward as a representative.
The major problem as I see it,is the lack of transparency from the club and the City matters group at the time, regarding the away tickets distribution.
People in one group seem to be having their allocation eroded, whilst the other 2 groups seem to have a free ride.
