Time for Mark Hughes to resign.

until the challenge he got sent for, in the second half, dunne hadn't put a foot wrong. possibly because Hughes told Micah not to leave him exposed when Olic was pulling wide?

Dunne was daft, but i can't see how anyone can blame Hughes for someone elses stupidity. As I say, if Hughes' message to Dunney at half time was to be sure before putting your foot in, it got through.

I expect the negativity because we gave everything and it just didn't go our way, but everyone involved (maybe bar Dunney), should get a pat on the back for sheer determination and intesity tonight.

Hughes won't be judged on tonight's game. He'll be judged on his performance over the season.

Agreed. A good performance every now and then is not the basis on which you judge whether to retain or dispense with your manager. And it won't be just about this season. It will be about whether ADUG think Hughes can deliver success at the highest level in the seasons to come. If they think he can then he keeps his job. If they don't he won't. Its f**king simple really.

Hughes could have made absolutely sure that dunne didn't get sent off by subbing him at half time. He didn't and dunne got sent off.

Did you see the round in which we lost?- Thats the best i have seen us play all season, so now is not the time to critcise.
Do you see the league table?- Yes, theres still games left. This season (apart from the away record) has been no worse than any other season, We could still finish seventh.
Do you know our away record?- Cant really argue it has been dismal, but why is that Hughes fault? its the players who have lacked commitment.
Do you know how much we spent?- Regardless of how much money has been spent a good team needs time to gel, look at any succesful club and there success didn't come overnight.
Do you know when we last won a decent trophy?- Yes, over a generation ago. Hughes has been here for a year and you expect silverware already? So surely you should blame the other managers for that.
Maybe after a few years of success we can expect to be taking the "extra step" but not yet.

This^

Hughes gets blamed when we have no intensity and play like shit, surely even the Hughes outers will give him credit when we play well and with such determination?

my point was that ughes shouldnt have to worry and and sub his Captain...he is Captain for a reason

You cant blame Hughes for Dunnes mistakes

i see your point, clearly, but for a while when they were on the backfoot we were palying in a way that wasn't exposing Dunney. Perhaps he thought the three substitutions might have been better saved for forward players if wee were still chasing the game, or wanted to save for later in the game to replace inevitably tired legs given the pace we were playing at. everyone can point the finger when things go wrong, but the width of a post a couple of times tonight and it would be a different story. understand how everyone's down, but i'd rather be proud of the lads tonight.

Hughes is the manager. He chooses the captain. He makes the substitutions. The buck stops with him. So yes you can and should blame hughes.
