Tino Livramento

With the way Viana has moved so far in the window, he isn't going to bung upwards of £80m on Livramento.

I also don't buy this notion that because we got Cherki and Ait Nouri cheap we can afford to spend more on Livramento.

I get the feeling Viana won't pay a penny more for a player of which he values him at.
Wrong we will pay what it takes to get our targets.

I think there's interest from our side, but I'd imagine it would probably take him forcing a move since Newcastle made the CL? They don't need to sell and I certainly understand why

Yeah he'd have to force it. He's obviously interested as we wouldn't even enquire if he wasn't.

£80m is the magic number seen around social media
That’s far too much for a RB. I know we paid £50m for Walker but that was a bit different.

The fee’s we are currently paying for new players is not extravagant.

Unless we offload a player to them I can’t see this having any legs.

The world is full of fbs, go find one that cost half that. The pressure would be ridiculous on him.

Yep it will be MGW + some foreign RB ( hopefully Vanderson). Livramento is impossible I feel.

Correct. This entire saga is ridiculous for every reason. Move on

Right, but that’s not the only reason a young player would move though.

I don’t think we’re that arrogant either. Newcastle are a great club to play for

I hear you. Big club in their city and this country (though not a “top 6” in stature) and I dont say that arrogantly I don’t forget where we came from and how lucky we were in 2008. But we’re now seen as one of the biggest clubs in the world and top players see us as a final destination club.

They can’t yet attract players to take them to next level. Dan Burn and Joelinton are fan favourites there, for example. Every summer their priority is to keep their top players there and away from successful football clubs. And a lot of their fans are currently absolutely buzzing at the prospect of maybe signing Anthony Elanga and Joao Pedro thinking it will take them to next level.

Compare that to playing for Pep in a team that will compete for the title most years and has genuine aspirations to get back challenging for the champions league trophy. Young player or not, he’s already established in the league and he has no guarantee the opportunity would come around again. It’s a no brainer for the lad if we could agree a fee.
