Tino Livramento

To be fair Walker's only discernible attributes were his pace and strength and it made him arguably the best right in the world for a few years. Take it away from him and he was in the discussion for worst premier league player this season. Maybe it's all you need haha
He wasn’t a bad goalie tbf

Far from if. He isn't as good as a prime Kyle Walker for starters. We can do a lot better than Livarmento and besides that Newcatle aren't going to sell him directly to a rival unless we pay big money. Plenty are despearately wanting Nunes replaced despite finishing the season strong.
Do you actually read what you reply to or you just on here for the wind up? Where have I said he was better than prime Kyle Walker?

Not even going to offer a bite because its pretty clear that's all you come on here for. Repeating the same old nonsense points post after post about players we are linked to. Strange.

We have about 10 teams, one of the best academies in the world, and a global scouting department, yet we are putting all our eggs in basket of a breakthrough 22 yr old, at a rival, who don’t want to sell, and the number 70,000,000 is being floated?

Fuck me. I can smell the desperation from here and I’m 4,000 miles away!

There has to be another answer or football is dead!
I think you’re right about the desperation. Frankly, we have got ourselves into a bit of a mess. The CEO is now part time and fully attached to CFG.
Last summer when by all accounts Pep said the team could go on another year, nobody questioned it. It proved nonsense. Remember when Pep was fixated on Sanchez? The CEO and the chairman got involved and persuaded Pep that it was a nonsense deal. They were right. Nothing like that occurred last summer. We picked up Gvardiol but not much else. Now we are scrambling to put matters right. We even appear to be jettisoning Nico G after six months, but there is no clarity about who else we should offload.
Hmmmm…..

Who ? Livramento is the best option as a HG and the club will and has to chase the best HG talent out there obviously with certain departures within the next 2 years

And drop further behind? Riding things out is exactly why we are in the position we are where we've had to spend 300 million plus in 2 windows.
No. Failing to reinforce after prior season is why we had a bad season. And to rectify that we've now reinforced in the last 2 windows with 7 additions. Pretending that is the same as getting 1 player in the prior season is wild.

If he was that talented he would have been signed directly from Southampton. He is a lot more than we paid for Walker who was near enough the finished article.
But he's not a lot more than Walker as we haven't actually bought him.

Also, Walker was already 27 when we bought him, Livramento is still 22, not to mention the market is rather different now.

In terms of quality we can do better and besides that Newcastle aren't going to sell him directly to a rival. They have already dissmissed Liverpool's interest in Isak.

Still Walker was the better bet. We don't really need potential at RB and there are better elsewhere.

The guys who watch him every week rate him really highly. Fancy that.

Tbf it's not an important point. Newcastle have just won their first trophy for something like 60 years, and this is possibly the best side they've had in that time (Keegan side possibly better). So of course they rate him - but we've just had our worst season for 5 years and still finished above them. What's good for them isnt necessarily good for us. He's their best right back since Warren Barton...

Nunes is fine as back up, it’s Lewis that’s not good enough for us.

I guess with the price of Livramento, is it a price worth paying? That’s always a gamble isn’t it, Grealish was ok for a couple of seasons, but possibly not worth what we paid. Phillips clearly wasn’t worth it. I’d argue though that City should have paid the asking price for van Dijk years ago, he would have been worth it, as would Declan Rice have been. Not paying for them was a mistake, in my opinion. But that’s with hindsight. No-one knows for sure with most players.

So I can understand why the club may be reluctant to spend over £80m on him. But when we spent £53m on Walker that was a bargain. Could Livramento be worth the risk?
The difference though is that Walker was already the nest RB when we paid that. Ans he was good for the money. I wont call it a bargain.

Agree with everything else. Except i think Lewis is good enough.
