You’re right, of course, because Nestle, et al, are healthy and Americans are force feeding you your food!

Me, too!
We drop $1,500 at Bob Chinn’s Crab House every December and that guy/gal makes $300 just for our table of 10 for a few hours!

And that might be perfectly acceptable in some places. In Japan, they take offence at tipping!

24 of us at Carden Park last week, Sunday Evening meal included in the price. Golfing party next to us got up after the meal, no tip. I went round requesting a couple of quid off everyone, raised £50, gave it to one of the young people serving us, absolutely delighted and her colleagues thanked us. Lovely young, polite staff, well deserved.

Whether you think its right to pay below the minimum wage with an assumption of tips has no relevance, its how it is,so by not tipping you are cutting your servers earnings.
If you don’t want to tip don’t go to a country where tipping is expected, and relied upon.

But that is missing the point. Chicago says tipping was 15% its now 20%. So why not make wages lower, the price of the meal the same and 30% tips.
Keeping wages low, below a minimum wage, fuels illegal immigration, they are not in a position to ask for more and rely on customers generosity. That is wrong.

If they raised the price of the meal to cover the removal of tipping, the people that refuse to tip would stop going out for a meal.
All the restaurant's would then go tits up and I would have to eat the wife's murderous meatloaf.
