There is a reason Villareal are in this competition , and it is because they are a good team . We can beat them of course , but you can not just consider them as an easy win , and then on to the next one . Both will be very hard games where we will need to play some excellent stuff . Napoli away from home is the BIG game , we need to go there and not lose . We can come away with a point or a win , but a defeat in that game and we won't finish second simple as that. Bayern maybe , due to it being the last game , a crucial game , and I personally believe that we can beat them . They can pass the ball , but they never really got at us . They created a few opportunities , scored 2 poor goals and that was it , they won that game due to a lack of enthusiasm on our part , not due to their sheer brilliance . They are more tahn beatable , and if anyone is good at doing things the hard way , it is Manchester City . It will be a tough ask to get out of this group , but I have faith

Exactly - Villareal home & away, then we can go gung ho in Naples to get the 3 points because by the last game against Bayern they should be already safely through, hopefully will be a much easier game than last night!

Statistically we should of battered Napoli 1st time round but the woodwork got the better of us again. Silva is awesome at hitting the bar - Should do Crossbar challenge!! Villareal a definate 3pts at home Bayern - Doubt we will get anything away but if we score first then we will win.

Does anyone else thing Mancini should rotate the squad a bit. Silva is a great player but he cannot physically play 3 games in a week. Without Silva we are in a poor state.
Everton marked him out of the game until we score from nothing. Its quite scarey that we have to rely on him so much.

It's not an impossible scenario - following the 5th round of fixtures Bayern might be coming to our place needing a draw or even a win just to qualify, never mind winning the group.
We've been given a huge advantage in playing Villarreal back-to-back, 6 points is a must and then the group is wide open.
Who thinks we loose points with Napoli? Bayern will look to get through the group as soon as possible - and the next two games are home and away against Napoli. Our defense will be more stabilized again as Badstuber is in great form since weeks - that yesterday was a combination we never played before. We won the last games away against Italian teams. Badstuber will be fit again, Robben will be fit again as there is the national break in between. He then can go 90 minutes again. And Olic comes back this week - and he is a real asset as he always makes goals when he comes in for minutes.
Right now I am more afraid about the weekend's game against Hoffenheim. Yes, a small team - but the weekends after the CL are the most dangerous ones if the fixture is not one of the bigger clubs in the league.

Their 2 attackers are always good for goals and they are difficult to handle. What Bayern made pretty good in that game was to cut them two from the supply line - the few times when they had gotten the ball were more difficult. Actually the ball Neuer had to hold there was a lot more difficult than any yesterday. Villarreal tried to park the bus with us - as Napoli did in Manchester.

You'd also expect Inter to beat Trabzonspor and United to beat Basel - anything is possible and I don't think it's that improbable that Napoli can pick up 2 ugly points against you in your forthcoming games.
I think after last nights antics we are going to batter someone very soon! Lets hope it starts against Villareal if we go to Naples with 6 points from the 2 Villareal games & with hopefully Napoli picking up maximun 1 point against Bayern momentum will be with us and should see us pick up the 3 points!

Gomez wasn't offside. Two players were stood offside (inc. Gomez) before the free kick was taken then as the player runs up to take the free kick Kolo Toure goes back towards goal playing them both onside.
I'd like to see the incident that led up to this free kick again though, the commentator said he 'tripped over his own shoelaces' before Dzeko landed on him.
Gomez was offside twice.
No.1 He was offside when the ball was crossed in and a flick on does not make a new phase of play so he was offside then.
Number two, look closely and he was marginally offside from the flick on.
