To Mr Roberto Mancini.

My,my, you've spent a long time replying to my constructive criticism - which I believe Im entitled to? Obviously you think not and that yours is more valuable.

I think most spectators like to watch football to be entertained and that most folks employed in the game would accept they're in the entertainment business. I cant get to many Circus' these days, but even when I could I still liked football too, and golf, and fishing etc etc. Football is an expensive product for which I expect to be entertained. Frankly, a lot of times this Season, I have not been - Im entitled to say so.

As for the rest of your drivel - what on earth has it got to do with it about how many owners we have? Blah, blah, blah. You dont have to worry about how valuable my opinion is any more than I yours. Just make your observation in a constructive way and move on otherwise you start to look a bit silly.........................

I think after Damocles deconstruction of your post and your reply, it is not he that looks silly. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but it does not mean all opinions are equally correct or valid.

That is just my opinion ofcourse.

Incredible. The day after the end of our best season for decades and there are Blues on here arguing, FFS!

Can't we all just enjoy the summer break secure in the knowledge that we done damn good this year, and look forward to locking horns with the biggest and best Europe has to offer next season?

A few times this season I've doubted some of mancinis footballing philosophy, but he has delivered big time. I genuinely believe Mancini is the one to lead us to future glory! Thank you sir!

I'd say most fans were entertained watching us win the FA cup and get an automatic CL spot. If you didn't find this entertaining I'd suggest watching spurs, they play attacking, entertaining, free-flowing swashbuckling football©

This has ultimately got them nowhere.

Everything that is wrong with the modern football fan summed up in just five words. No support in some supporters these days...

Although how any City fan can say this season wasn't entertaining... Utterly bewildering...

Agree with each word.

I have my doubts that he is a City fan.

Well done Bobby.

Third place and a fucking cup, you've proven people like me wrong (nice one), and you've proven some of your biggest fans wrong, who said third and a cup was an unrealistic expectation.

Cheers pal, here's to a long successful future!

To all those that hijacked this thread with their own agendas ..grow the fuck up ..this is a thankyou thread ffs..

Well said, that man!

I was too young to remember the League win in 1968 or the FA Cup in '69 and too young to fully appreciate the League Cup and Cup Winners' Cup victories of 1970.

I missed both games of the FA Cup final in 1981, due to being on college exchange in France.

And I was abroad for most of the 2001-02 season.

However, the only home league match I have missed this season was Bolton. I was also at the Leicester replay, the Reading game and the semi-final.

This is without doubt the best season I can remember in 42 seasons as a City supporter.

Thank you, Roberto for restoring pride to this great club.

The thing that has impressed me most is the professional, no-panic way it has all been done, no last minute goals conceded or drama's you normally expect with our club

there was no way i would have guessed all those barren years without a trophy would come to an end in such undramatic fashion - i think the phrase typical city has now passed to birmingham - win a trophy and get relegated in the same season - exactly how i would have guessed we'd have done it before rm

Plus we'd never win anything in his lifetime with Mancini in charge and Mancini is a fake and charlatan.

Yes. Sarcasm. Well done you for spotting it.

;) ;)

(and totally wrong)
Okay, well I would stand by everything I said there.

I guess you have your own examples of what's changed, but as you haven't detailed any of of them, that's all I can do, guess!

Sorry for the delay in my replying, but I thought you had gone to bed so I went to mine. Here we go;

You must have noticed how, for many games this season, our defence and midfield kept possession by passing sideways or up and back and back again.
Keeping possession is vital, but to do it as we did meant that our eventual approach to the opposition 18yd box was faced with virtually the whole of their team lined up and waiting. That's when we ran out of ideas as well as space.

Yaya Toure, apart from the occasional rampage forward, has been on basically defensive duties - making a seven man defence, often at home against poor opposition, until Tevez' injury forced a re-jig to try to form a link between defence and midfield. As you know, this worked very well and was the beginning of our late spurt.

Now, we no longer see such long delays getting the ball upfield ( Hart is also using the big boot, which I have never liked, but at least it is better than the slow approach) our forwards must think that it's their birthday. Perhaps this might even persuade Tevez to stay now that he will get a better service!

To sum up:

Allowing Yaya up front(almost) and abandoning the slow build-up, have been the major changes in the last few, vital games. These changes in Mancini's tactics saved our season.
Without a terrific squad, we could not have got away with it. Most of my thanks go to them and Sheikh Mansour.

Roberto has done some learning. When he learns the value of a good pair of wingers, playing on their correct sides, we'll be away.

-- Mon May 23, 2011 3:00 pm --

When you say hijackers, I take it you mean those who took a thank-you thread and turned it into an attack on those of us who have a different opinion about Mancini. Agreed.
