I have been to 2 Cup finals - the FA Cup in 1981 and 2013 and we have lost them both. It will be 3rd time lucky for me I hope....

Sell your ticket ffs. You're a fucking Jonah.

First time I saw us win something and the last cup we won for a very long time.
Dennis Tueart's overhead kick and Malcolm Macdonald in tears at full time. What a mard arse, I thought, and then 81 came along and I didn't think he was soft anymore.
I'd love us to win this.

this this and this

Never seen us lift this trophy. I really want to witness that next Sunday.

My big sister took me to Albert Square to see City bring the League Cup back in 76. Ive always wanted to see us win it again. Ill be there on Sunday and cant wait!

It would be emotional because the last time we won it I was a mere boy being there with my dad who is sadly no longer here so it would bring back happy memories !

Conversely I was an 18 year old young buck. If you'd have told me then what was to come I wouldn't have believed you. Each day I thank our wonderful owners for without them we'd still be in a cesspool of hurt!!

If it'd been the first trophy to end our drought, it would have meant a lot lot more I'm sure. As it is, we won the FA Cup, beating the rags at Wembley en-route, followed by the most exciting league title race there's ever been, so its significance is reduced for me. I've never been a great lover of this competition to be honest because I've always gotten a lot more excited about the FA Cup with its history as the oldest footballing competition in the world, the magic of the FA Cup for EVERY club in the English football league pyramid versus just the 92 professional league clubs in this competition, and the FA Cup Final as a great national occasion. The Capital One Cup has far less of an aura to me. As it is, I'm just looking forwards to a great day out with my branch and a good bunch from the North East, a win is a bonus but if Sunderland win I think I'll be happy for them because I know it will mean a lot to them - apparently tickets are gold dust up in Sunderland which doesn't shock me,
