Today's shooting in America thread

I know loads of Americans in their 60's /70's who are the nicest people you could meet until you mention gun control -then they just go on the defense .They don't really trust their Government ,many have grown up with guns,they grew up in rural isolated areas where calling 911 wouldn't be much use. They would rationalise this latest horror, that if they had been in Walmart they would have pulled out their concealed weapon & end of problem.

So they've pulled out their weapon and are doling out justice when the police show up...What happens now? How do the police know they're the good guy w/ a gun? They don't...the police shoot them because all they see is somebody shooting people at an active shooter scene.

This is just common sense yet all of these morons w/ their murder fantasies can't seem to realize it.

BTW, there was a case where a black guy w/ a gun put a stop to a situation who did get killed by the cops when they showed up. In fairness to the cops though, they're always going to kill a black guy when they see one.

Watching Santorum argue that making guns illegal won't stop criminals from getting guns on CNN.

How is that any different than saying "We shouldn't make murder illegal because it won't stop murderers from killing people?"

They will get them, but surely it'd be more difficult. Also, and I could be wrong, but these mass shootings don't seem to be by career criminal types, so it's not like it's gangsters.

I doubt very much whether the USA is capable of removing the vast amount of weaponry from public hands or has the will to do so.

It's the will to do so. If they had the will they'd do it. Granted it would be a difficult job, but unfortunately they don't have the will.

Maybe a referendum.........!!!!

Don't know if America is just too big for a referendum, but surely if they asked the American public they'd overwhelmingly vote for some form of gun control.

Mind you, it's just another mass shooting. If they didn't do anything after a school shooting I can't see them doing anything here.
