If the Arsenal fans have taken the piss then that is the final straw really, this season they and their manager have proven themselves to be a bunch of first class pricks. I don't wish to go on their board to read their bile.

It's not 'Arsenal fans' is a handful of fans. There will be the same on other supporters' forums as well. I am sure there would be similar stuff on here if I did a search from a very small minority of people towards United's plane crash or something. I won't though because we shouldn't let these morons dictate our view of football clubs or their supporters. I don't think this is the time for club rivalry or shots at teams/managers anyway, the people on the coach where from multiple teams.

Anyone who truly likes football would be appaled at today's events as well as wondering what will happen with the African cup of nations.

Baring in mind the response to similar comments earlier, and the seriousness of the incident, whether this was meant to be "funny" or not, its not needed or wanted.
i know it was serious, a bloke died but i was having my say on ade not thinking the shooting was funny, and wheather its not needed or wanted its my opinion which i thought that was what a forum was for

How many people nearly lost their lives today on that bus and your spouting off about Ade not running?!? SHOW SOME RESPECT!

I haven't read the entire thread (can't be bothered but from what I can gather there are a few fuckwits about who have made light of this terrible situation....may Karma come and bite you on the arse...)

But...I do personally think the safety of the Togo squad is going to be paramount (and any other team for that matter) and from what I gathered in Ade's interview on the BBC (he speaks really fast so heard selective bits) that they will make a decision in the morning as to whether they come home and rightly so.

I hope they all keep safe in the meantime. I was worried the other day when I read that they were all under 24 hour guard in the first place.

Not all Arsenal fans just a few fucking idiots,
We all have supporters who mock tragedy. So lets not tar everyone with the same brush

They're right to sleep on it but I wouldn't have slept on it. I'd already be home by now. I'd have asked City to send the private plane over that the Sheikh let's the players use sometimes and I would have hid at the airport until it arrived.

Thank God Ade's ok, i cannot even begin to imagine what they were going through, my thoughts go out to the bus driver's family and all of the Togo team, get Ade home safe and give him all the time he needs to recover and get over this terrible event, there are some really sick people in this world. It was horrible not knowing whether the lad and was ok

Adebayor SPEAKS!!!!!!!

For some reason, I can no longer start new topics (mods help?)

anyway, might as well post this here....

Manchester City player Emmanuel Adebayor on Togo ambush BBC News In an interview with BBC Afrique, Manchester City striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, who was onboard the bus but was unhurt, said the attack lasted thirty minutes. Why haven't City arranged to bring Adebayor home? Get off your asses, people. Togo will not be participating in the rest of the tournament so why the delay?

I would see the point though if they would decide to go on with the tournament anyway, not letting those rebels get the best of them etc. However I think you're right, it's prettty much impossible for them to go on and they'll get out of there quite soon. I don't think they'll be in much harm if they're in the cities though but this ordeal would be too much for anyone anyway. I expect them to withdraw but I understand that they're at least thinking about it before deciding to leave.

This has been the top story of our biggest online newspaper here in Sweden all night, it is definitely a pretty big deal. Someone mentioned they of course had AK-47:s, as they would have...I got to shoot one of those once when I was in my military service, really strange feeling since it's such an iconic weapon, just a black silhouette of it and everyone knows what it is, one of the most famous images of the 20th century, Mocambique put it on their flag. Once you got to hold it and shoot it all of that sort of felt more real, it was weird.
But I digress. Haven't heard much news coming out of there lately, I really hope those that are injured makes it okay.
