What's the point in having a player, any player, not necessarily Kroos who isn't going to contribute defensively but also isn't going to get goals or assists? You might as well have another attacking player in there. Possession and control don't win games, goals do.

Just to give you my two cents worth - I think he's absolutely the missing link for us. His passing range is made for a manager like Pep. His intelligence at the base of a midfield three is second to none. He compliments Gundogan perfectly. It's just a no brainer if we can get him IMO.

It's not that I think he'd be a bad signing by any means but it's just that I've got that old cliche in the back of my mind of whether or not he'd deal with the pace of the Premier League and the constant pressing style which has become increasingly fashionable over the last few years.

You could easily make counter arguments of him impressing in the Bundesliga which, in my opinion, is the league which has some of the best counter attacking teams in the world. However, I just have that niggling feeling that he'd struggle to adapt here.

Like I said, it's a cliche and I could be absolutely wrong but it's just my instinct.

Yes, Real will definitely want Pogba and it's showing but my post was about why would they sell Kroos instead of James and Isco.

Maybe they'll sign Lewandowski too - that's circa €200m they need to raise from transfers or have gifted to them from their friends in local government....
