If I had to guess I'd say that's what's happening.

He was asked about building a legacy and he completely batted it away saying if that was his goal he'd still be at Barca having never left with amazing players, he wants to learn etc etc.

I hope he'd stay for more than 3 years, it's definitely a job that would need longer to fully make the most of his time here IMO, unlike Bayern for example.

Hopefully he'll sign a renewal and end up staying for about 5 years, but I think that'd be the maximum we could expect him to stay for.

I was actually replying to the bit about Kroos agent linking him with City in order to big him up for possible pay increase etc rather than Pep.

I don't believe we would even dream of spending 60 mil on Kroos. And if we offered it, I think Real Madrid would rip our fucking arms off accepting.

Shame, think Kroos would have been ideal for that 8 position. We have little depth there as it stands + Silva is 31 in Jan which means we have to manage him more carefully.

Think we also need young quality holding midfielder, Weigl would be ideal. Fernandinho is excellent, but he is 32 next May and Fernando is just not good enough.

Agree we need somebody like Weigl in the pivot, with Garcia as cover as well.
If not Kroos as an 8, it could be Mahmoud Dahoud who we have been linked to, while no Kroos at the moment, he is younger and can rotate with KDB, Silva and Gundogon

If the midfield functions correctly the defensive unit will not have as much pressure on it, it'll also help not having an invisible keeper.

He's not the sort of midfielder we need. If he played in the pivot role, we could potentially have a kroos, silva and de bruyne midfield. Nowhere near good enough defensively.

Kroos in the holding role would be ideal would just top off our summer signings with him and Sanchez on board we would defenitly go close to winning the champs lge if keeping Vinny fit.
