To be honest I wanted to put Blackmore in my 10 but in the end as it was favourite not best so I put Steve Morse in I actually like more Purple albums with Morse than Blackmore, and his work with Kansas and Dixie Dregs above the 4 Rainbow albums I like.Bolin ahead of Blackmore, sacrilege.
Bolin was one of the guitarists that (just) missed out on last spot in my ten though.

Anyway here is my 10 favourites, and not best which would be a fair bit different.
1 Eddie Van Halen
2 Angus Young
3 Gary Moore
4 Michael Schenker
5 Steve Morse
6 John Petrucci
7 George Lynch
8 Tommy Aldrich
9 Adrian Vandenberg
10 Mick Box
Neal Schon was one I agonised over and was one of the last eliminated, along with Steve Lukather, and to be fair when I got to about 18 eliminating 8 was like choosing between children. One of my hardest choices was between John Sykes , pre Leppard Vivian Cambell and Tommy Aldrich. I think seeing Aldrich a few weeks ago with Dead Daisies while Sykes and Cambell have done little recently swayed it.I left a number of guitarists out seeing your list,George lynch another one I forgot about, didn’t see Jeff healey in the top 100 either or Neal Schon ..
Haha my list was to hastily put together ffs think I left page out altogether too many and so hard to whittle it down reckon I’d of picked slightly different to my list I actually had Randy Rhoads at no1..Neal Schon was one I agonised over and was one of the last eliminated, along with Steve Lukather, and to be fair when I got to about 18 eliminating 8 was like choosing between children.
