Top 115 Female Music Artists Results | No.1 page 63

In the end we had a brilliant response.
76 voters and 301 artists.

I voted Sarah Blackwood simply because she's the only female singer I've met.
Chatted to her after a Client gig & she was funny, happy to chat & very engaging with the fans.
Also love how her Halifax accent breaks through the electronic sheen of her music...

I was her other voter.

Known mostly for her (movie soundtrack?) massive hit, Show Me Heaven. But has done some amazingly good albums too. Both solo and with Lone Justice (saw them play at the Poly and International)

Life Is Sweet is my favourite solo album. Saw her tour that at Academy 3 with her then husband on bass ... (though recently she has converted to the Isle of Lesvos apparently) top gig.

Of course, her duet of Show Me Heaven with Robin Zander on his solo album just takes it to a new height, natch ;-)

I have voters regret for not including her, so I'm glad she made the list. Vastly underrated and only known to most people for the one song. Never tire of listening to Absolutely Barking Stars very loudly. As well as her own stuff she does a mean cover too, some of the ones on You Gotta Sin To Get Saved are favourites.

Also it's quite cool to have had to big hits written about you (or maybe one and half, as Benmont Tench said You Little Thief wasn't about her?)

Glad to see that two other people were prepared to forgive Kate Rusby for being born on the wrong side of The Pennines. Gorgeous voice and also the only folk singer my wife is prepared to go see, though she does insist on referring to her as the "It's a Cow. It's a Cow, woman".

Nice to have another in. Already got more in than the last poll!

Also good to see Tammi Terrell make it in. She would have been in my top 15 but just couldn't squeeze her into my top 10.

I voted for her. Seen her live about half a dozen times, always does a great show.
