Tories have lost the vote of the young generation.

This is like Arsenal saying they'll cap season ticket prices. Or First buses saying they'll cap bus fares.

Like cheers guys, I obviously wouldn't mind paying a shit tonne because you've been courteous enough not to charge even more.

Don't go uni then quite simple really, I don't go to work so others can postpone the daily drudge. If I think your time in further education will benefit society I will happily pay tax on a 50/50 basis otherwise make an adult decision.

Yeah Corbyn seems to have the young vote locked down, he actually made an effort compared to May

Just listened to Justine Greening announcing that tuition fees are to be frozen at 9250 and that fee repayment will start t 25k. Saving students. She forgets to say that her government raised fees by over 200% and then recently retrospectively put interest up to 6% on students who agreed to fees at a lower rate. Who do they think the torries are kidding. They will fool no young people with these platitudes. Tuition fees and their implementation are wrong in so many ways. May and her government are completely out of touch with young people. Are moving further away.

This has been all over the papers all weekend there are seriously worried at tory HQ membership has fell off the cliff 150k since they last counted in 2013. Then they stopped the predictions are this is below 100k. In the past they have always lived with losing young people and gaining them back as they get much older. But there is some serious concern that counting on that transition can no longer be a given. I am no sage on this but the problem is that the 40 somethings are feeling the squeeze and unlike the 50 and 60 year olds. Dear old Maggie wasn't daft when she gave away all those council houses she knew this was buying future votes for the tories. Now there's nothing left a housing crisis and generally feeling let down.

This latest offering from the tories to me is like they have given up polishing the turd and are throwing on more shit to get rid of the stench. It really is no wonder that Corbyn is wiping the floor with the tories at least he offers the hope not the same shit different smell.

all over the papers like a pissing puppy to quote The Thick Of It lol !! What they have done is effectively give more students a university education at the tax payers expense, put the burden on future generations of tax payers to pay for it ( something Labour was condemned for doing ) whilst at the same time hamstringing universities from raising revenues from students at a time when their foreign student numbers are falling so they too will have to come to the tax payer for increased funding.

i say the first bit because what they are doing as well as freezing the fees is raising the payback threshold. What that does is mean graduates will be paying back later but in the meantime the loans will just accrue more interest - from the private Student Loan Co. Putting it back will also mean that the amount that goes unpaid by the graduate when the loan is written off is a greater capital sum plus extra interest. That will be picked up in years to come by the tax payers of the future... the Student Loan Co board must be pissing themselves tonight.

Yeah all the fuckers become doctors and nurses that's why 3/4 will never pay off the debt. The children are our future, it benefits us all blah blah cliche bollocks. Most will work in a call centre with bob who never went to uni and doesn't give a fuck who the first Tudor king of England was.
