Bring back Hughesy!

Was really exciting last time we played Spurs at WHL, 3 goals provided real value for money and nothing say's 'potential champions' to me like a resounding 3-0 defeat.

Better run, I need to have my 87th wank of the day over a picture of Mark Hughes fat arse in tight United shorts.

finally some sense.

I'd have been even happier yesterday if Spurs had scored a late winner and then all our players ran to Harry Redknapp and high fived him with a huge grin on their collective faces.

quite correct, pick the corresponding fixture from last season, and the previous manager, and let that be the yardstick for all discussion about mancini's methods.

how did i not think of this reasoned logic.

-- Sun Aug 15, 2010 6:01 pm --

True. Makes much more sense to just speculate.

Like, say we'd played Ade upfront and in the first minute he slipped creating a slight divot in the turf. 84 minutes later, Yaya may have had a shot that hit the divot and rebounded into the net thus winning us the game.

Yet again Mancini has cost us a victory.

There you go.

I'll admit that it's a continuing worry of mine about Mancini. He was definitely overly defensive in some games last season, but he starts this new season with a clean slate as far as I'm concerned. A very tricky opening game against a team that is more or less the same as last season is probably not the best yardstick to judge him by. All things considered a very useful point in a fixture we usually lose against a team that would have beaten the vast majority of Premier League opponents on the day. We definitely need to give Mancini more time to finalize his squad and the team more time to gel before we start to pick holes in his tactics and individual performances.

I agree with eveything you said, I'm an eternal optimist and as long as he goes all out attack against the likes of Everon/Villa/Spurs at home then I'll be well happy.

and if plays for a point at blackpool, wigan etc?

Bob won't play for a point at the "dross", he knows what he is doing.

Hughes played for 3 points and usually got just the 1.

Why create problems that do not exist yet and may not exist?

If you're not interested in the discussion then why are you even in this thread? Clearly there's a decent discussion going on between a few people. I can understand you not wanting to be part of it, but don't pour bile all over it out of spite.

Did we play for a point away to Burnley last season?

What happened when Lord Hughes of Salford pitted his wits against Burnley at home?

I know absence makes the heart grow fonder but in some cases it does not like no one misses having the shits, no one misses an unfortunate disease and no fucker should miss Mark fucking Hughes the draw specialist.

I think that Mancini was simply a bit over cautious yesterday. He knew the squad wasn't quite match ready and wanted to ease them in. Spurs were up for it but, thankfully our 2nd half performance improved. This team is getting better. Give them a couple games.

The Europa Match provides a great opportunity to get some of those kinks out and play some good football.

I would actually play Jo up front with Tevez, Jo worked his ass off in preseason and I think he earned a chance.
