totally underwhelmed

True. Makes much more sense to just speculate.

Like, say we'd played Ade upfront and in the first minute he slipped creating a slight divot in the turf. 84 minutes later, Yaya may have had a shot that hit the divot and rebounded into the net thus winning us the game.

Yet again Mancini has cost us a victory.

There you go.

If you're not interested in the discussion then why are you even in this thread? Clearly there's a decent discussion going on between a few people. I can understand you not wanting to be part of it, but don't pour bile all over it out of spite.

I'm not doing anything of the sort.

I'm just sick of people on here with snide agendas wanting to ruin it for all of us.

Bad enough we have some players intent on ruining the club, why some fans need to follow suite is beyond me.

Anyone disappointed with yesterday when taking all the circumstances into consideration is an idiot.

Apologies, I suspect my pro City attitude to be dealt with swiftly and a ban to follow.

Of the 11 that started yesterdays game only 3 were brought in by Mancini. That was Hughes team. Wait till we can see Mancini's team play. Why do these Hughes lovers not remember Brighton and Notts Forest plus that dismal run of draws against poor teams just before he got the boot?

I think that Mancini was simply a bit over cautious yesterday. He knew the squad wasn't quite match ready and wanted to ease them in. Spurs were up for it but, thankfully our 2nd half performance improved. This team is getting better. Give them a couple games.

The Europa Match provides a great opportunity to get some of those kinks out and play some good football.

I would actually play Jo up front with Tevez, Jo worked his ass off in preseason and I think he earned a chance.
i want to see, Balotelli, Ade, AJ up front in the Europa game

Clearly you're losing the plot. There's no snide agendas mate, and no idiots. Just City supporters trying to have a discussion about Mancini and his tactics. You're pissing all over it and you keep bringing up Mark Hughes as if anyone actually gives a fuck about him now...

None of that happened though. Hughes won every game 6-0 and us sacking him was nothing short of evil.

Nothing Mancini ever does will appease some on here as he's had the audacity to call a spade a spade and ship out the shit.

Jeez we have played one game against a top side with players who have only just come back from WC duty and trained for about a week together. Some fans on here need a reality check or they should wait until they know something about the game before posting.

I don't think we'll see Balo until Liverpool on Monday. When do we train this week? Monday and Tuesday, maybe with a morning session Wednesday? How long is the journey to Romania from Manchester?

Fine. I can take a hint.

My viewpoint that things aren't quite panic stations yet is not welcome and unless I'm going to lose all perspective and knowledge of football then I'm not allowed to join in the discussion.

As for Hughes being irrelevant, I'd agree but if we're bashing Mancini after 1 draw then why not mention that Sparky boy specialised in terribly entertaining consecutive draws?

-- Sun Aug 15, 2010 6:20 pm --

Don't say that!

You'll be hounded and beaten!

Just agree that Mancini is shit and that we should have won 3-0 yesterday. For your sake, do it.

i am sorry but i have never seen a team win anything without making an attempt to score.

Fair point no team wins without shooting, however this is one game, and there were reasons why we were so disjointed, take something from the major improvement from start to finish, and then look at who we will be playing in future weeks. If we're still playing this way against Blackpool/burn in a month or so, and drawing 0-0 then he'll be on his way I expect, but we won't will we ?

In the first half Spurs were excellent yesterday, and they didn't allow us to attack, they were first to everything, but we got to grips with them and dominated possession second half, restricting Spurs to a couple of long shots, and we had a couple of good chances ourselves.

It wasn't perfect, but its 1 point more than we got last year, and 2 less for Spurs. We need to improve this way against others, and if we do we'll be challenging.
well said cleavers.. this is 100 % spot on, saves me typing all this
