Tottenham are better than us.

Oh I see, you are counting on the financial fair play rules being unenforceable?

Even though it has been ratified by the UEFA executive committee which acts on behalf of all the stakeholders in European football?

The only club in Europe who wouldn't want these regulations coming in is City, even Abramovich supports it!

Unfortunately for you lot if you don't bring your losses down each year to the £30 million mark you're going to be left all dressed up with no-where to go.

I am expecting the law to be enforced, which would see your gaffer in jail, where he belongs.

As for Platini he has already backtracked on this and several other issues. You can normally drive a bus through UEFA' regulations. I have little regard for them as they patently ignore fair play and any form of open competition. However, disregarding this, there have been several scenarios discussed on this site and The Swiss Rambler, whereby City could quite comfortably financially qualify on the basis of Platini's nonsense.

Why is it nonsense btw?

Surely it's a good thing that clubs have to operate within their means? Clubs around Europe are tightening their belts and if it wasn't for City and Madrid I believe we would have seen wages fall more back into line with 'reality'.

If all clubs are forced to abide by these rules then it will stop the ever increasing amounts of money spent by clubs on transfer fee's and wages.

Or do you think it's a good thing that the likes of Wayne Bridge are probably on upwards of £80k p/w at your place?

Long may it continue as long as we don't have to foot the bill right?

I personally would want to see all 20 teams in with a chance of winning the league like in the NFL. People think we will be fucked when the FFP rules come in but they are in for a shock, we will be the best run club out there that will allow us to be competitive for a long long time.

Might need to have a whip round to sort out arry's Tax Bill though ;)

I don't know if you're the best run club but you will still have very wealthy backing which will make you a very competitive side.

You have to do a lot of work to fall back into line though and it will inevitably weaken you somewhat.

-- Mon Nov 29, 2010 2:32 am --

Btw Harry will be fine, you lot should know by now that happy 'arry always comes out smelling of roses.

;)

Hated Spurs since losing to them in the FA Cup and the spur's fans that have adorned the pages of bluemoon with their arrogant style haven't helped.

I'm sure not all of them are tossers, just 90% of the ones that come on here seem to get under people's skins with their football snobbery. In all honesty I've enjoyed watching them last season and this season under Harry, they know how to win and how to win well and in a way I wish them well in the champions league.

I realise that some City fans must look arrogant to others looking in over the last season or two, but Spurs have been cocky gob shites for the last two decades when comparing clubs. I'm only telling it the way it is, anyway to those Spurs fans looking in who are decent lads and lasses "best of luck" in the league and the champions league........To those that fall into the arrogant sort...FECK OFFFFF!!!

You'd be suprised mate. Garry Cook said that we were only earning 40% (or around that figure) of our potential income for the level we are at (ground capacity, europa league ect). Imagine what we will be like at 100%. The sheik will carry on spending as long as it helps us get in line, i.e new ground or extension, build on the complex ect, we won't be weaken doing it.
