Tottenham are better than us.

Err, we're above them in the table. Amazing as it might sound given the way the media have gone on.

We've been well off our best and are above them. They've been near their best and are still below us. Come the end of the season I'm confident we'll not only be above them but fairly comfortably so.

Thank goodness they have cup committments or they would leave us for dead for fourth place!

Last season they were definately better than us. This season I think it is pretty even. But they play with much more tempo and have a greater desire to win and seem to have a good togetherness as a team. We are still building all this.

I am expecting the law to be enforced, which would see your gaffer in jail, where he belongs.

As for Platini he has already backtracked on this and several other issues. You can normally drive a bus through UEFA' regulations. I have little regard for them as they patently ignore fair play and any form of open competition. However, disregarding this, there have been several scenarios discussed on this site and The Swiss Rambler, whereby City could quite comfortably financially qualify on the basis of Platini's nonsense.

Why is it nonsense btw?

Surely it's a good thing that clubs have to operate within their means? Clubs around Europe are tightening their belts and if it wasn't for City and Madrid I believe we would have seen wages fall more back into line with 'reality'.

If all clubs are forced to abide by these rules then it will stop the ever increasing amounts of money spent by clubs on transfer fee's and wages.

Or do you think it's a good thing that the likes of Wayne Bridge are probably on upwards of £80k p/w at your place?

Long may it continue as long as we don't have to foot the bill right?
Why now when the scum and Chavs have had their unmittgated success? They didnt buy it either? It´s fookin obvious why - rearrange the followin Latin - Quo Status

Can't see Bale staying at Spurs either. He is way too good for them.

Too good for a team who are improving every year, a team who will prob top their Champions Lg group ahead of the champions, a team who have great players like King, Dawson, Modric, van der Vaart, Defoe etc? I think he fits right in and in the next few years will be rivals forthe title!

I didn't realise spurs didn't buy any players , and they all play for the love of the club on a call centre man's wages, my mistake it must have been that pesky club tottenham that spent absolute fortunes over the last 5 years

My mistake spurs fans your club is a beacon of light to clubs like ours who are the devils spawn and lost our way

Lead us into the light oh mighty ones

They just raped poor old Pompey with their crackers round their ankles - who was their manager now ...errrm....?

That´s a decent well thought out post sir. But having suffered some of my worst nightmares at your hands (3 QFs as well as 81 & 4TH)you might forgive my vitriol. I am certainly no plastic having been ST holder many years I still fly in from abroad to support the club engrained in my DNA. This is simply a case of a great club with a large and loyal following desperate to get a 35 year monkey off it´s back. Now we seem to be closer than ever the twitchier we are getting. I, and many blues I know of my generation would die happy men if we could win SOMETHING once more and frankly if we won the PL , I couldn´t give a flying toss whether we won anything again in my lifetime and I could actaully enjoy watching us play rather than having heart failure every week. At least we knew where we stood without the money - we were shit - perennially , but now there´s expectation. At times I´m not sure which I prefer - to be liked and gash and the butt of everyone´s jokes or now. I´ll take now for the time being if only to wind up those tossers just outside of our good city. I´ve been brow beaten into near submission these last 2 decades so why the fook should I give up now!
And as far as I'm concerned you deserve it. For a number of reasons. The long history that Man City have. A long-standing club who are interwoven into the history of English football. And for the fact that it will break the stranglehold of the cartel that was threatening to overtake English football.

I'll be honest, I don't like the monetarisation of football. But that's an overall attitude, not one directed at Man City and it's an argument for a different time.

I hope for the same thing from Spurs. In that regard we're the same. We want the best for our club and we define who we are by what our club does.

For that, and for the history of your club, I wish you all the best.
Fair play to you mate

what pisses me off most about spuds does indeed go back to 81. after the first final rather than have the replay at trafford, ( as chelsea - leeds ) it was decided by the londoncentric FA to have the replay at wembley. The ticket allocation went something like this; city 32,000, spuds 32,000 and the remainder of tickets went on open sale at wembley, fuck that was so biased it hurt. and to this day I still detest the FA because of that. oh and "ossies going to wembley" was worth a public execution.
