Tottenham to sell Bale or Modric if they miss out on CL

I would only buy Bale for the left back position, apart from his pace, I think he may look out of place in our current set-up/approach.

I think Clichy's been great though.

And as for Modric, hes so overrated its beyond a joke.

modric is overated,and his price tag is crazy,40 milion is a price for exceptional players.
aguero for example,falcao,tevez minos his problems, modric isnt this type of player.

Modric to me is similar to Milner. Decent player but not worth a huge price.vwe can't afford non English players who aren't truely top class IMO.

Bale is better than Johnson but is not English either and is not consistent enough for his price tag.

Surely there's a lightning fast intelligent top class winger out there for less than these over priced pair.

Bale is relatively young, he's got pace and strength, and can take a player on. He'd give us an option we currently don't have. With Johnson who lacks pace as our only real winger, he'd be almost the perfect signing. Unfortunately I think Spurs would want too much money, so we'll likely look to bring a winger in from abroad.

I think Modric would be excellent for us a holding midfield player but I guess its all about opinions. I think Bale is excellent too but his price will be crazy money and I certainly wouldn't want to hand spurs in excess of £50m. Bale couldn't play as a left back if his life depended on it. If we played him as a left back, we would have to play another left back in front of him in order to have a left back on the pitch.
