Toys from your childhood

I bought a full Subbuteo set from John Lewis’ store in Piccadilly when I was 13, sadly Mike Summerbee lost his arm due to a mishap but I still have him. The other team were Brazil, and we always won.

My mate had subbuteo so I got this instead (might have been cheaper too), nice idea but if you tried to score a thunderbastard you risked snapping the head off.

I also had Test Match, similar idea for Cricket. I invented all sorts of new formats that made Twenty20 look dull as. Was well ahead of my time!

Btw - I could be wrong but I think Lewis's in Piccadilly was completely different from John Lewis.

Not a toy but I always remember it was a big event when this came out once a year

I used to cycle regularly from Stockport to the airport and stand on top of the terminal with my CAM in hand.. has no clue really what I was looking for but enjoyed the experience…

The talking Terminator, had buttons on the back that would say phrases and light up the eyes red. Lost all his guns and sunglasses though

Even better than that though was th Terminator Bio Flesh regenerator. My parents had to hide it from me because it would make a right fucking mess

As a child, we were so poor my parents once presented me with an empty box on Christmas Day. When I opened it, there was a note inside which said 'Action Man deserter'.

I'll get my coat.
