Trailer Time...

Interesting that it's being released nearly a month before Brand New Day

I saw the thumbnail yesterday and thought it was fake due to the beard!

Good catch!

And yes, it's an odd choice to release this before the Spidey film. Perhaps it indicates a change of direction/ rebirth for him to become more of an anti-hero? Who knows? Interesting that Bernthal has become much involved in the development of the character, now he's played him so long.

I was thinking the rebirth angle myself only down to the fact that I can't see the producers allowing him to continue a blood and guts murder spree in Brand New Day even if it is for the benefit of "Good"

Yeah.

The more I think about it, the more I think Marvel Studios want a more relatable purely Human character that's not super-powered as a hero. DC have 'The Batman'. Who's in the 'Avengers' team that's not powered up?

Hawkeye and Black Widow and now Captain America. They don't have the same darkness as The Batman even though with Hawkeye they did make him a crazed vigilante in one of the series. We've already seen him on the farm with his family though so I don't think it works the same with him.

Interesting. I forgot about 'Hawkeye' and 'Black Widow'. I thought the Black Widows were enhanced in Russia (but maybe just highly trained). I never knew why 'Hawkeye' was so dead eyed. It never made any sense to me. But I think it's something to do with circus training. Still makes no sense to me.

And 'Capt. America' is an enhanced super soldier, so not 'purely Human' in the sense of the previous two names.

I meant the new Cap - Sam Wilson. He's too virtuous to be Batman though

Yes, of course! Just with knowing 'Steve Rogers' will be back, that's who I automatically think of.

I'm not going to cast judgement on what they do with 'Sam Wilson', but I don't think we'll ever know him as much as we all know 'Bruce Wayne'.

But, good call on that reminder.
