Transfer Strategy

You were arguing that since we didn't buy a left back Pep doesn't think it's an issue. My response is that we have no idea if that's true because Pep doesn't do the transfers. He's wanted players for positions before where we haven't gotten anyone.
Pep doesn't do the transfers no but he is heavily involved. Txiki doesn't get free pick of what he wants to do.

The only time we have been linked with a LB in Nuno Mendes the club publically shut it down, probably says how we feel about the situation.

I literally wrote in my post that I thought recruitment had been good on balance, not sure what your point is.

You do say recruitment is "good"

Then every part of your post says the opposite.
I will itemise each negative point you made if you like but is that necessary.

Every club strives for a balanced squad with strength in each area. As the squad improves, and ours has now reached the elite level, it becomes increasingly more difficult to improve each position.

City don't get free reign to pick up players like a pint of milk. There are so many variables involved.

Every player gets "exposed". No player is perfect. Mendy just hasn't worked out but we are stuck with him, we don't have the squad space or finances for a 3rd LB when Zinchenko and Cancelo do more than a good enough job 99.9% of the time.
We didn't lose the CL final because Pep played Zinchenko.

Strikers, like left backs are few and far between. I don't subscribe to this notion we can put Carroll up top and he will score 30. We are trying to replace one of the best goal scorers in the world with someone, its very difficult.
Some have blamed Zinc for the Chelsea goal in the final though.
I accept left backs are hard to find but that is not a good reason not to look for one particularly now it seems like we may have zero specialists in that position.

So what have we actually been doing this summer if ‘we didn’t even make one offer, Tottenham didn’t want to negotiate.’

Mbappe and Haaland look like they’re leaving. Not addressed LB, paid over the odds for Grealish and now being drawn into a bidding war with the Rags. Shit show all around.

Oh, and Messi on a free. A fucking free.

we have spent almost billion since 2016 and still have huge holes at LB, DM and ST.

Txiki constantly spends money in positions that are not urgent need. Grealish for £100m prime example. Could have got DM and LB for £50m each for that and we'd be stronger overall.

It's not the transfer strategy. It's the transfer tactics.

*taps nose*
