We have known since March that our greatest ever goalscorer was leaving. The chairman went on record to promise the fans he would be replaced.
Scrambling around like Harry Redknapp leaning out of his Range Rover window in the last days of the window, having been very publicly played for suckers twice in a week, is not a good look. Not good at all.
The events of the last week have brutally demonstrated that we are not nearly as well run as we like to think we are

Mendes presented a deal, we fancied it, put forward our offer. Mendes touts him to the rags as well, they offered and Ronaldo chooses them.

Please explain how Omar, Txiki or anyone else could have changed that.

Agreed, more than anything, this last week has completely shaken my faith in the competency of the people making decisions for us.

Losing our greater ever goalscorer, and we have not made a *single* bid for any striker this entire summer, according to our manager. I don't remember a summer in the last 10 years where SO MANY amazing strikers were on the market, too. It's beyond ridiculous.
