Transfer Strategy

We will definitely be in the mix. Trophies are won on the pitch. Signing a player doesn't mean surety of titles. We are a young team that is peaking now. Most of our players are at their peaks.
I agree with some points but Chelsea have been excellent on the pitch since tuchel came in, beat us in the league the fa cup and the champs league and the fuckers barely concede. Nailed on imo.

They will have a dip. The league and cup were different matches compared to the CL.

You give them too much credit,Pep helped create that thinking/situation.

Our squad is/was far better, and now we have added a world class midfielder.

Anybody with talent willing to play a back 5 or a 4231 against us can double our wingers and mark us out of the game. Chelsea had a 5-2-2-1 kind of formation so they had two holding mids and wingbacks and we looked completely clueless against it. We need the ability to threaten centrally desperately

We have an excellent team setup but we are not ruthless in the market. And sometimes we forget how big a club we are now. And our fanbase is pretty docile too just like the club. We never go over the top with how great some of our players are. There was no reason why it took 9 years for Aguero to get into the team of the season.

Our transfer dealings reflect that. We are afraid to blow everyone out of the water. We let players turn their head to other teams instead of them turning the head for us. And I would like us to buy a superstar but that has never been my priority.

My rift is going for a transfer half heartedly and then it blowing up all over the face.
The Kane deal is quite remarkable in all of this. Pep just said we never were at the table. Then why the fuck where they dicking around for 2 months. Omar and Txiki.

We know it would take something special for the rag **** to come to the blueside of manchester. We still dicked on the transfer fee and the wages.

He shouldn't have been an option in the first place. We are not fucking wolves. We don't allow Mendes to decide on our transfer deals.

This has been embarrassing. Not because our team is decidedly bad. Just because we went for wrong players at wrong time with the wrong approach. Something we are culpable of despite what the lots here claim about.

Hopefully we have learnt our lesson. Pretty sure we haven't. We will give all our 80% for the transfer for Haaland next year. But Perez will have that extra 30 million inside his sofa which will make Raiola turn Haland's head to madrid.

How long can the plan be to replace the striker position that has been lacking for 2 seasons now? I mean I agree with you to an extent but it’s not like we are looking to add to a position of strength. We literally don’t have a striker right now
I completely agree that we should have added a striker and this season may prove hard because we couldn’t execute but how many strikers are out there would add value to our squad right now? Maybe 3-4 in the world and only one was ‘kind of available’. We bought Pep in because he’s a genius who has proved time and time again that traditional football means zero in the modern age. Ok we don’t have a striker but Pep prefers a stacked squad of midfielders over a team reliant on one number 9. We lost one key game last year being the champs league but it wasn’t because a lack of striker, it was because pep bottled the selection on the day (even geniuses make mistakes). We have the same team now with one additional option. That team won two comps and made the champs league final on strong defensive and excellent tactics. I liked the idea of a striker purely on a marquee/ exciting move but do we need one? Last year proved we don’t.

You mean the mentality of paying way over value for the latest shiny galactico, with borrowed money, just to increase their media presence. That's not ruthless it's incompetence, we are better at team building than team buying, long may it continue.

Yeah well the reality is we still don't have a striker and we missed one 3/3 on the targets we had there

Also can we talk about how out of all of our extensive scouting networks across the fucking globe, we identify Messi, Kane, Ronaldo as our targets? Anyone with a goddamn playstation could have listed those 3 off, christ lol
