Travel to the USA

I’d like to visit Philly, looks like a really interesting town, might be nice to have a local for some guidance. I have a friend here who grew up in Philly (Center Town, I think) she says she got mugged on her way to school so many times that her Father started walking her to school. Then they both got mugged :)
Pittsburgh is better. And my lad is there so you'll have a local guide.

I've probably said this to you before, but Pittsburgh is IMO hands down the most underrated city in America. The winters are tough, but the rest of the year it's a lovely place to be. Nice people, great sports, lots to do downtown, very green. Agree on Philly -- my wife is from there. Notice how she moved to California with me 30 years ago . . . :)

IMO Vegas is far and away the most overrated, followed by Miami, but I understand why others love them -- I just dislike them both.

Had a week in Vegas in Sept and that was 3 days too long....(and one of those days was at the Grand Canyon)
I know we all need a job and have to live etc.... but couldn't live / work there

i agree completly been there twice, tje second time stopping of on a long road trip. We just lounged around the pool at Bellagio and drank beer.

Aren't they both steel towns?
That's why I equated the two. Actually, Pittsburgh has cleaned itself up remarkably since the US steel industry ate itself. When I played soccer in college, we played U of Pittsburgh out there twice, it honestly was a struggle to breathe during the match the air was so dirty. Today, it has repositioned itself as a financial center and a home to many corporations.
