I noticed from 105 that stweards were trying to get people to sit down in 109 and 119. I even noticed the subs warmed up down the other end to usual, obviously as to stop people standing up and showing needed support and encouragement for the subs.

CITY - THIS FUCKING STINKS! TELL MCC AND GMP TO FUCKING STICK IT UP THEIR ARSES AND LET US BLUES SUPPORT OUR TEAM HOW WE WANT, YOU RETARDS!
I'm not sure it was for this reason. Noticed in the Community Shield too, the subs warmed up down the opposite side to the linesman and they did the same tonight. The rule must have changed.

Re: Ejections in 109

what a daft cut off point between 110 and 109! you'd thought they'd have used common sense and concentrated on making sure standing doesn't spread to 107, because 99% of people want to stand in 109.
Then again Fletcher isn't noted for his common sense.

Re: Ejections in 109

people in the family stand noticed and where getting a bit annoyed because we knew what it was about. they were starting at the front and trying to work there way back, but thankfully the city fans were not having it. well done lads keep it up. you spend 500 quid on a ticket you get to stand if you want to. (well only if the person behind is ok with it) but i feel sorry for some stewards having to do fletchers dirty work, they knew this would be a bad thing but are obviously made to do it. we could see them ejecting people.

Re: Ejections in 109

If every single person wants to stand in 109 then they should stand. If one person wants to sit, then you have to sit.

Anyone standing at the very front you cannot say you were hard done to.

my frustration is that the wanker stewards were fronting out yonger lads - my lad was approached and told we know your name and where you live - they are utter wankers

another steward was poining at his blue City stewards badge and tellin him he could do anything he wanted or similar

if people want things to change then boycott food and drinks in the 109 areas and generate a petition or something - it wont happen because fans in genenral give a shit about anything that does not impact themselves

Re: Ejections in 109

The staff were appalling tonight, their attitude to having us sit down was disgusting.

Intimidating, aggressive, constantly being confrontational with fans who just wanted to watch the football.

Tonight, ShowSec were the Hooligans.

Also it is noted they singled out inparticularly Young Males, who they knew would respond to this confrontational form of behaviour.

My advice to those responding to the stewards tonight: Keep quiet, avoid eye contact with them and focus on the match.
The ones who were evicted and constantly spoken to were the fans who engaged with them.

Not once did i sit down, I paid my money to watch the football in that particular area because I CAN STAND.

Safe standing needs to be introduced.

But i am sure there will be a certain amount of people who have paid £500+ to be able to watch the game. We're the ones who were thrown out from the front? if they were then you cannot blame them IMO. People stand in 109 because of the people at the front standing, if they are throwing people out further up the block then that is out of order.

Re: Ejections in 109

Spread the word, operation surround.

You see some cunts trying to single out some poor sod, get everyone around to surround him and not let the stewards anywhere near.Outnumber the failed police officers, it's the only way.

Re: Ejections in 109

I know nothing of what happened in 109 because I sit some distance away, but I will reiterate what I said along similar lines on another thread and that was that at some grounds, and I think I cited Leicester City, there is a tactic of picking off individuals who are part of a larger group who stand. The reason for doing this is that if you don't know who is going to be ejected for standing so it could be anyone, even if they're not being abusive or overtly causing any problems, apart from refusing to sit. This apparent random ejection policy is designed so that the people standing then sit down because they don't want to be the random person singled out.

Whether this works or not I'm not sure, but if you are a persistent stander and you are ejected after being singled out, this is probably why.

I'm not getting into the argument of whether it's right or wrong or whether a certain section should be allowed to stand if the vast majority want to, I just wanted to maybe shed some light onto why this might have happened.

Having said all that, like anything, there are ways and means of doing things but like anything sometimes a hi viz jacket goes to some people heads.
