RE: Ejection at Manchester City FC on Saturday 15th October 2011

Showsec’s operational role at Manchester City Football Club falls within the club’s match day
operation. In this instance we were directed by the club to eject a supporter for persistent
standing, which contravenes the ground regulations and followed repeated complaints from
other supporters in the area.
The ejection was carried out in line with the club’s policy and upon the gentleman’s refusal to
leave the ground we requested the support of Greater Manchester Police in order complete
the process.
The company will continue to support the policies of the club and any eschewing
investigations.

ENDS

Don't know if already posted.

Well, that's a croc of shite isn't it. Pretty much like GMP's version.

Once again I note, 'A' supporter was ejected for persistent standing. What about the other 500+ also standing in 109. That's where their argument falls down. Also, who complained about the Supporter, when everyone around him was also standing? A Showsec security guard?

It's f***ing groundhog day. They(City, Showsec and GMP) must all meet in one room at City, compare notes, and come up with a joint statement. When in reality everyone is blaming each other and pointing fingers at what happened

One day somebody willl admit they f***ed up. Unfortunately I've only got 35 years left before I die.

this^^^^^
i'l guarantee the 3 parties had a meeting prob as early as into the 2nd half, you will note stewards etc had been pulled away from the block at this time while notes were being swapped and excuses made,it willl come out in time it allways does

There are only two points in this.

1. The miscommunication between the club and the fans in 109. All evidence so far points to a situation that was so ambiguous it was an accident waiting to happen.
2. The reaction by the stewards. I've never worked in security but even I know that you don't behave like they did if you have done the relevant courses, got your SIA badge, and are trained in such a way that AVOIDS the very situation that transpired.
In other words, they are either incompetently trained or are given a message, albeit subliminal, that football fans are 'fair game.'
I'd love to see how they would behave in a situation where the 'paying customer' is more likely to have friends in high places. Very differently I expect.

they'll start to close that block row by row and relocate people for some games this was done in the south stand a few years back

Didn't work though :)

no because they only done it for 2 games if they do it for more it might

I spoke to someone today who got moved from SS to the third tier and he said it was almost like a treat. He said it was going on for quite a while in his block.

It was just anything to get him away for 1 game, showsec seem to know this didn't work and started acting like twats by evicting fans. This will probably just cause trouble.
