Truck Runs into Crowd in Nice

Do the maths though on what you have just said, say there are 2 million migrants in Europe, the actions of the 15 or so total people involved in the attacks in the last year in Paris, Belgium and Nice amounts to about 0.00075% of that number. Even if 0.1% of migrants were terrorists we would be in serious and I mean serious trouble. I seriously doubt there are even 100 actual terrorists planning attacks in Europe and that is generous.

I hope you understand that the other 99.99925% of migrants are actually fleeing the very people who are committing these attacks. What would we blame on the 100 people blown up in Iraq?

This has nothing to do with migration but a war against a poisoned idelogy held by an almost infinitely small group of people who do not even relate to the rest of humanity.
maybe if the migrants didn't flee and fought for their freedom there wouldn't be any terrorists, there are plenty of fighting age migrants fucking off to form a fucking huge army, these migrants have got to help their people and their country rather than running away,i appreciate there are lots of women and children but I would fight to the death to protect my family, maybe that's me I'm not in that situation maybe I would run away, but one thing I know is I would be ashamed for the rest of my life if I didn't fight

slightly more ignorant than the shopping trip spoiled lady. congrats

It seems to me that people think we have a decision to make? There is only acceptance. The deciding was done when we illegally killed the leader of Iraq.

As tragic as all of this is, we are only going to be able to stop a small partition of these attacks via intelligence and the security services.

There is no diplomatic solution to this mess and the killing (both in Europe and the Middle East) isn't going to stop.

To quote Plato - Only the dead have seen the end of the war.
Before the ill fated sortie into Iraq, there were 140+ 'Islamic Terror' attacks carried out between 1983-2004, with over 6000 deaths. By all means criticise Blair, Bush and the intelligence services (who lots of people seem to be advocating should get much more power) but do not rewrite history, in regards to how long this has been going on.

maybe I am ignorant, would you like to enlighten me

What would you fight with - how many guns and tanks do you have stashed under your mattress? Or are you going to charge in with saucepan on your head shooting them with water pistols?

Remember you haven't had a job in a while because the place you live is a war torn misery of what it used to be so you don't have any money to buy guns either.

Plus you don't have a place to live as that was either destroyed or you and your entire neighbourhood were kicked out to house people who support the regime.

Meanwhile you give all of your spare food and cash to your wife and your three young children so that they can risk their life traveling on foot thousands of miles through a warzone so that they can get to the safety of an inflatable raft crossing an open sea on their own whilst you stay behind to fight the bad guy with your spud gun 'pew pew'.

In Syria it is an armed conflict consisting of many parties and all of which want to kill each other. It was in the news a bit ago that one rebel ate the heart of a Syrian government soldier to prove a point, that is the level of hate you are talking without even starting to involve ISIS. The Syrian government in response is killing it's own people by barrel bombing them in case they are rebels and again the rebels want to kill anyone who isn't a rebel, finally ISIS just want to control the country and kill everyone.

Either way there is a very high likelihood you will end up in a fight that will see that your entire family is obliterated. I certainly would not be keeping them there and I would be on the first boat I saw even if it meant drowning anyway.

you would be ashamed if you ran away from an unimaginably brutal armed militia that was systematically destroying your land and your people even though you were armed with nothing more dangerous than a breadknife and a hammer?

its as stupid as saying the French people should not have run away from that truck last night

Awful awful news but unfortunately there is nothing anyone can do to stop these types of attacks, we're somehow just going to have to find a way to live with these incidents.
Yes there is. Better protection of pedestrianised areas - concrete bollards or large vehicles to block access to areas where large crowds congregate. This can't prevent all attacks but it should help prevent mass casualties from this type of attack. Next season I expect that busses won't be allowed down Ashton Old Road along with post match crowds as they do now for example.
