Trying to gamble up to a season ticket.....

Bets 5&6 (same horse) both lose which sees the account move into the red for the first time. Abandoned the staking plan, and it cost me but still in the game.

Bet 7: 5:20Newb: Lady Lam TBP £10@1.91

Why don't you just grind lay bets until you have a healthy profit and then use that as your lay bet float? I usually go for 'safer' bets, which sees me having a liability of somewhere around £40 to win about £7. If you do this quite a few times in the day they you do start to build up nicely, thus you're able to afford bigger lays after a while.

My bread and butter is National Hunt, and 'grinding it out' is a strategy I do use a lot. As I've said from the start, this is a bit of fun, and the basic plan was to try and double the money every 5/6 days in order to get £50 up to £500. The only way to do that grinding would be to risk the majority of the bank on individual races, which I wasn't keen to do. If we're treading water next week then I may roll the dice with Ascot, but we shall see.

Bet 8:8.40 Uttox Nesnaas £4win@8.6
Bet 9:8.40 Uttox Nesnaas @16 TBP @2.7

I've learnt a lesson. My second sport is tennis, so I know quite a bit about the game.

Let's just say that betting on tennis is more unpredictable than betting on City!

I've not lost yet, but I'm counting on Del Potro to fight back from a set down. This'll bank me a nice £29, taking today's profit to around £80. However, if I lose, I'll be back to the £50 I originally started with.

I'll start writing out the bets I've done so far or the list will get too long.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bet 1 - Lay on Storm Belt at Nottingham 13:50. Result = WIN £5

Bet 2 - Lay Mister Ben Vereen at Yarmouth 14:40. Result = WIN £5

Bet 3 - Lay Albaraka at Newbury 15:05. Result = WIN £2.26 (I did stand to win more but I put the bet on quite late so some of it was not matched)

Bet 4 - Lay Moment of Time at Newbury 15:05. Result = WIN £3 (due to having a smaller floatbecause of the Bet 3)

Bet 5 - Lay Jibaal at Nottingham 15:25. Result = WIN £5

Bet 6 - Lay El Muqbil at Nottingham 15:25. Result - WIN £2

Bet 7 - Lay Llodra at Queens (ATP Tennis). Result = Void (so liability returned)

Bet 8 - Lay Larsson (WTA Tennis). Result = WIN £4.50

Bet 9 - Lay Eshoog at Yarmouth 15:50. Result = WIN £6

Bet 10 - Lay Deraasa at Nottingham 16:00. Result = WIN £6

-------------------------------------------------------------

I'll update how much money's in my float etc after the Del Potro match has finished.

A mate of mine who also does betfair is on a run of about 46 races laying 1 horse to lose in each race just for a fiver, big fields is his forte.

i'm not a pro mate you are right, i went back in to play on 0 and lost 120 in the same mins it took me t win the 600, happy with what i won so i did one and went back to work.

Going off your posts in this thread De Niro - I had 3quid in my Paddy POwer, so I thought I'll have a dabble at the roulette.. went on got upto £45 using your numbers :-) then left at £35 after my Tenner gamble failed me... Nice one.

well done mate, i got about 60 brick this morning, gives me something to play with:)
i like to win of course but as long as i play with their money it doesn't hurt as much.

got up to 144, 2 quid on 29 twice, lost it back, so i'm level for the day, on the way home put 20 in with 11 quid on zero, bingo 396, played the 26 and came out with 370:)

Last bets of the day:

Bet 11 - Lay Mannarino at Queens (ATP Tennis). Result = LOSE £49 (now I'm back to the £50 I started with)

Bet 12 - Lay Rigoletta at Leopardstown 17:55. Result = WIN £2

Bet 13 - Lay Donna Elvira at Haydock 18:20. Result = WIN £10

Bet 14 - Lay The Wicketkeeper at Uttoxeter 18:40.Result = WIN £4.50

Bet 15 - Lay Elkhart at Haydock 18:50. Result = WIN £3

Bet 16 - Lay Bluemoonandstars at Fontwell 19:00. Result = WIN £2.50

Bet 17 - Lay Denton Ryal at Uttoxeter 19:10. Result = WIN £3.50

Bet 18 - Lay Angelo Poliziano at Haydock 19:20.Result = WIN £4.50

Bet 19 - Lay Alteranthela at Fontwell 19:30. Result = WIN £6.10

Bet 20 - Lay Zepnove at Uttoxeter 19:40. Result = WIN £5

Bet 21 - Lay Weapon of Choice at Haydock 19:50. Result = WIN £4.50

Bet 22 - Lay Follow the Sun at Uttoxeter 20:10. Result = WIN £6.50

Bet 23 - Lay Elusive Ridge at Leopardstown (no sure of time). Result = WIN £5.50

Bet 24 - Lay Nesnaas at Uttoxeter 20:40. Result = WIN £6.00

Bet 25 - Lay Capdalight at Fontwell 21:00. Result = WIN £15.50

-----------------------------------------

This brings my current balance in Betfair to £140.54, with £90.54 being profit.

I only bet the profit, not my original deposit, which is why I win little each time.

Might play a bit of poker later, but tbh, I'm quite tired after doing this all day, the losing the Mannarino bet and then having to grind the horses again.

I'll be back doing the lay bets tomorrow.

What time do the horses start tomorrow?

Cheers, hopefully I can continue today's form but I doubt it.

Once I get to £300 profit I'll withdraw £150 and play with the remaining £150 and go from there, if I get there ;)

Once again you continue to get little sly digs in at people.

Who are you? Talking about Vig and (wales) Whales, most people
on this forum haven't got a clue what these two terms refer to.

You must think you are Sam Rothstein or Phil Hellmuth.
Why don't you post up some of your P/L from your sports-book
or poker accounts.

And as you say you have cashed in a live game there will be proof of this
somewhere.

I am prepared to be shot down in flames on this one,and will never doubt you again
I await your response

would you like to put your money where your mouth is on this?

how much do you want to bet?

;o)

anyone can look up the terms vigorish and whale as they pertain to gambling; they're no big secret.
