I was fretting about my sister-in-law and her family, back in Japan. But, luckily, she'd flown back, last night and her family are okay.

So far.

My thoughts go out to you and yours.

If he was in Tokyo im sure he will be fine. Tokyo is a city prepared for stuff like this. All the phone networks are down.

Not sure on the geographics, but you can't prepare for a Tsunami, as nothing can stop it. The quake, yeah, but not the Tsunami. Like I say though I don't know the geography in regards to how in-land Tokyo is. Shocking stuff though, the footage just gets worse and worse.
