so answer me this. the 12 africans in my lesson have ALL said they are going to study here then once they graduate, they are going to go back to their own countries. OUR government pay for their course fee's because they have lived over here for longer than 1 year and because their studying, they dont need visas. so our government is paying for 12 foreigners a total of £38,600 for them to be taught!!!and guess what...will we see any benefit from that? NO!!! their going back to their own countries. so thats 12 places on just 1 COURSE! there are over 1200 access courses run each year in the uk.
them 12 places from my course should go to someone from college next year who will carry on residing in the uk, like i am. there is on average 7000 places given to foreign, mature access students with a whopping, wait for.....7% of whom stay to live in the uk after graduation! and who pays for these 7000 places, free of charge. our country and our tax payers.
so why isnt this story in the news everyday? because it's racist to suggest we should not allow foreigners to be taught for free at our unis. the majority of foreign students pay substantial fees for the chance (i really admire them students). why do you think tuiton fees are going up? because the unis are using more gas in the winter? it's because the government are spending millions a year for free university tuition fees for foreign studets. Please, before you jump on my case. i've had a friend rejected from university straight from college with excellent grades, and had a foreign friend who coincidentally got on the same course, same uni, same year, free of charge, studied sports science, then moved back to spain. my mate now works part time at schuh.
labour were so lenient it broke englands spine, the coalition are trying their best to operate on this break. universities arent going to become extinct. those who are saying they worry for their childrens future....work hard now! many people do get into more debt by becoming mature students, theres no excuses, i quit work so i could spend time studying hard to get onto uni, i have THREE kids! i have no money whatsoever but i do know that in 4 years time i'll have a degree with the prospects of earning 5 times the amount i was 4 months ago. just have to bite your lip as hard as you can for as long as possible...you only life once, make the most of it. dont let money be a burden.
