TV Series

I finished watching Das Boot S2 last night. I have to say the ending was a huge let down and a kop out. It's a shame as I was enjoying the series until the last episode.

The writer purposely left it open for another series but way too open. There wasn't enough of a conclusion to end the series, awful writing.

It has become just another war time drama. Too many non u-boat scenes has resulted in an overall loss of tension and even those that did exist were pretty ridiculous, I don't even know where to begin. Think I'll be passing on any further series.

Agreed, there were too many non u-boat scenes which had no real conclusion. A lot of filming wasted on the New York story (filmed in Manchester I believe). I get that it's a dark series but there was potential for characters to redeem their earlier actions by putting things right, especially with Duval.

Why would the prisoners be left alone in an unlocked room during the last episode which allowed them to take over the boat and reinstate Wrangel? It was so daft.

The SS guys also seemed fine that their comrade had been shot in the head, no revenge either.

Yep, loads of examples throughout for me. Lazy writing to keep the story going for a later confrontation in many cases.

Also, I thought it was Manchester for New York. When you realise many of the Americans are played by Brits, it gives the game away!

I've started watching "unsolved mysteries" on Netflix. Not bad considering I'm going through a bit of a Netflix drought in terms of good things to watch.

been done as one job lot on BBC iplayer, so over here, yeah...

Also really chuffed for Matt berry, such an acquired taste for most, this just fits his quirkiness more than I’ve seen before, however the whole cast is great!

I like Matt Berry. Perhaps been pigeon holed a few times (that flamboyant voice!) but I guess that’s him in a nutshell. Likeable and funny.
Did you ever see Garth Marenghi's Darkplace? That was ace if a little off piste for some. First time I saw him was in that show.

Did you enjoy s3 of Dark? We are also doing Ozark (Dark s3 after that) and loving it. Just started s2 and the casino plot.
