BGT is back tonite , praise be !
she was brilliant in that and a recommended watch for anyoneIt's a tough one tbf. Plus the slang makes it even more difficult.
I'm originally from Philly, which is essentially the same dialect, and had a rude awakening when I graduated college and my coworkers had trouble understanding me or thought my accent was grating. Which in hindsight it was.
Kate Winslet was in a series called Mare of Eastown (which I highly recommend) a year or so back set in the same area. She nails local accent but said it was one of the hardest thing she'd ever had do in her career
SNL took the piss out of it at the time and it was qualityIt's a tough one tbf. Plus the slang makes it even more difficult.

I was in the overrated camp for a long Time. Took me years and numerous attempts too, also the poor quality versions that seemed to be on most streaming services didn't help. Glad I gave it another chance after running out of things during covid, it's the best series I've ever watched as a whole with the exception of maybe Sopranos.I have tried twice to watch it due to friends recommendations, can't get passed episode 2
What a bag of shite……BGT is back tonite , praise be !
Subtitles mandatory.I couldn’t understand the Baltimore accent so gave up on it.
S2 of The Wire is so much better on a second viewing IMO.Season 2 actually dips in quality IMO

Series 1 picks up after a few episodes as the story and characters develop. Season 2 actually dips in quality IMO but 3 to 5 are up there with the best TV you will ever watch. You will be fluent in Baltimorese by that point. I'm jealous of anyone who hasn't watched it now
