I was in the overrated camp for a long Time. Took me years and numerous attempts too, also the poor quality versions that seemed to be on most streaming services didn't help. Glad I gave it another chance after running out of things during covid, it's the best series I've ever watched as a whole with the exception of maybe Sopranos.
Series 1 picks up after a few episodes as the story and characters develop. Season 2 actually dips in quality IMO but 3 to 5 are up there with the best TV you will ever watch. You will be fluent in Baltimorese by that point. I'm jealous of anyone who hasn't watched it now

Two of my favourite characters from any TV show ever, cold as ice the pair of them, brilliantly acted by one, and just being themselves the other.

Same. It looked promising initially but I was left feeling disappointed with it overall by the end.

Finished 1st Season. Second isn't half as good.
