Still one of the greatest shows ever made.
A must watch.
In the top 2 alongside Sopranos for me. 100% worth sticking with it. Different level to easy watch current stuff like Ozark.

First episode of The Wire. I take it that it gets a bit better ? [emoji848]
Ended up loving Omar.In lockdown I finally got around to watching The Wire.
I can see why it’s so highly praised as time passes. It’s getting quite dated now though.
You usually watch TV to be easily entertained most of the time. I’m not saying The Wire is not entertaining but it’s not very giving in that respect. It’s not got many big ‘oh my god moments’ like some people pleasing shows have. It doesn’t have end of episode exciting cliffhangers and characters you’ll route for. (Except maybe Omar).
It does though have a great set of actors who make the show feel very real and the way each season shows a different aspect to Baltimore life and how it all ties in together is simply brilliant writing.
It all depends what you’re looking for when you start the show....
@Rammy Blue
There's also the first 3 seasons (for definite) of 'Dexter'.
The others are... 'optional'!
Need some inspiration from you guys for a series to watch with the missus. I’ve got loads to watch for me on my own but require something to fill an hour a night to watch with her. Generally speaking, we seem to enjoy most the crime drama style and feel like exhausted everything that’s been on recently. Went for a watch of The Wire last week but she couldn’t deal with it being so old so I guess it needs to be relatively recent.
Any ideas?

Not seen a single one of those. I consider myself someone who watches a fair bit, so shows how much TV there really is out there!
Been watching Gangs of London.
Really not been impressed with any aspect of it.
Absolutely. Series 4, the John Lithgow season was not only the pinnacle of Dexter, but one of the best seasons ive ever seen of anything.I'd have a hard time not throwing S4 in there Bigga, trinity killer season was the pinnacle of the show for me, wish I hadn't bothered after that :(
3 episodes in to white lines and I’m binning it. It’s fucking shite and the lead actress is annoying as fuck. So is the twatty brother and that’s not even starting on the accents.
No. One of those series everyone raves about that’s actually rubbish.
I binned it after 4 episodes.
It started well, but every point you make is valid.
Plus there's no way any kid from Manchester is called Axel.

Lmao. Fuck off forever. And then when you're done, fuck off more.No. One of those series everyone raves about that’s actually rubbish.
3 episodes of The Last Dance to go and I’m getting nervous about finishing it in the same way that I used dread getting to the end of an Irvine Welsh book or City’s 2017/18 season.
Before I started watching it, I knew Michael Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls. I knew that he was the best. I knew Magic Johnson and Larry Bird were legends and I knew Dennis Rodman was a bit wild. I knew that USA put a bunch of them together and pissed the Olympics. That’s about all I knew. Now, I could quite easily get into watching the NBA.
