Every season first 2/3 episodes are slow it doesn't get that much better but some of the acting and quite a few of those episodes are top notch..

Will try again with season 2 of The Bear tonight,not as high octane as season 1 but so good the way they've brought to life the Chef from Ratatouille to star in this.

I couldn't understand how cringey could get worse with the other species looking effeminate in song too.

Is Star Trek Strange New Worlds actually good?
I was a big fan of the Next generation but watched season 1 ep1 of this new one and just couldn't get into it at all. Just felt naff.

If people recommend it I might give it another go.

To me, I don't think it quite knows what it wants to be.

'Discovery' had a very similar issue in trying to please everyone.

If you do watch it, don't get yourself attached to the most famous captain we all know in the past!!

It blows hot and cold,i think its trying too hard sometimes to ensure it offers plenty of nods to the original.

I thought series 1 was better than the 2nd,so far.

Far,far superior to the bollocks that is 'Discovery' and worth a watch if you're something of a Trekkie though.

I wouldn't disagree with most of that.

The story arc in the second series is spectacular.

You don't see it coming til the end, really.

The lead was a decent actor he could have made a great captain but for some reason it fell flat.

It explains a lot in season 2 as to why Carmy is the way he is. The dysfunctional family is highlighted enormously in one of the episodes.

4 eps in to S2 and fucked it off,its like rinse repeat every episode.
