TV Series

I enjoyed Alien Earth up until the last 2 episodes.

Now it is The Walking Dead level of stupidity and pointless melodrama.

It's a pity.

1. The number of incidents of incompetence on the ship was utterly ridiculous. The lack of redundancy in managing these deadly beings was disappointingly lazy writing imo. I'd have forgiven 1 or maybe 2 but to have so many layers of dumb was just dumb.
2. Then to repeat it in the next episode was too much. One door? Fuck off.

The only good thing for me was that it reminded me of my mother "shut the door, you're letting all the cold air in (I mean ...parasitic horrifically-deadly human-extinction-threatening aliens out)"

Watched the first one last night. Underwhelming to say the least.

It was doing my head in who the lead girl is. Seen her things, but it’s not her I’ve seen, it’s her dad. Kyle Chandler. Complete image of him.

I hope the series improves.

I watched the first two seasons but the lead actress just got on my tits I couldn’t take to her at all, pity becaue the first two seasons were good but she wasn’t the best actress.

Totally get this. She fucking grates on you. Doesn't help I know somebody who looks and sounds like her. Two seasons was enough.

But it's a TV show. Name an action TV show that didn't have some level of "incompetence"!

It would be an extremely short run of a show if it didn't have any!

You could level all your accusations about any of the "Alien" films you've watched. But, also, I'm not saying the show is perfect, it's not.

But, at least, you explained it!

I'm not trying to tell anyone who the should and shouldn't like. But to fair to the actress, she was playing a character with bi-polar. So she was bound to be a bit manic/ annoying on occasions.

Alien Earth I suppose is like marmite for those who enjoy the original films. I’ve enjoyed it so far with the whole series not focused on xenomorphs with new creatures brought to the forefront and also how symph life forms are brought into existence. A series of an alien running round and killing a ships crew as it brings back nostalgia wouldn’t work over many episodes.

Started watching The Terminal List with Chris Pratt 4 episodes in so far and it's pretty good.

After his platoon of US Navy SEALs is ambushed while on a covert mission, Lieutenant Commander Reece returns home to his family with conflicting memories of the event and questions about his culpability. As new evidence emerges, Reece discovers dark forces working against him, endangering not only his life but also the lives of those he loves.

I just don’t think she was a good actress mate that’s all very hammy

Agreed.

I'm always curious why some don't like the thought of expanding the Xenomorph universe! The 'Eye' is a special treat for me! It's potential is spectacular!
