TV Series

Is stranger things still massive? I was watching it out of habit until last season where I fell off it big time, never even bothered getting through it and I almost always see things through even if it ends up being background noise.

Netflix seem to have gone big on the stranger things final season being the main Christmas offering for them this year but is it really that big anymore to warrant that billing?

Seems like it got really shit and took far, far too long for it to still be this cultural behemoth it once was. I get a squid game vibe from it with how that was once the biggest thing on the planet and by the end hardly seemed to get a mention.

It’s massive enough to have a massive Christmas tree in the middle of Piccadilly station, plugging the final series.

That is just Netflix advertising their flagship series though, is the audience still there for it? I'm not really seeing much chatter about the new season.

I had to watch a catch-up video on YouTube for Stranger Things I’d forgot what happened, this season is ok but they’ve certainly milked it. Was good at the start as they were genuine kids and the nostalgia was a hit but it’s 10 years since it first started!

The Widower - It's from 2014 and only 3 episodes. Based on the true story of one Malcolm Webster (proper c7nt) and his crazy, murderous ways. 8/10

It is a bit daft seeing them still at high school looking about 25 years old. That aside, i'm enjoying the new series and though the first two episodes were a bit slow, its really getting going in e3.

My son who's just turned 15 loves it and so do all his mates at school. I saw above suggestions its not as popular now, but i think that's way off as with teenagers and younger people it seems more popular than ever.

My favourite watch of the year has been Hacks. Rewatching from the beginning, brilliant TV. Jean Smart is brilliant, as are all the supporting cast

My son and all his mates have given up on it after 2 episodes of the latest series. He says it has a Harry Potter vibe to it nowadays. I cannot comment as I gave up after series 2. That was a significant down grade on series 1 imo

I think most are just watching it to see how it ends, 4 years between seasons is mad, can you imagine if GoT had done that!

Not sure if mentioned by anyone else, but have been watching The Crash Detectives on iPlayer.
It’s an honest but grim watch & how the cause of each crash is determined is amazing.
There are a couple of things that have really shocked me.
1-It’s astonishing the amount of fatal crashes caused due to drink and/or drug driving. Why the hell do people think it’s ok to drink & drive or take drugs & drive?
2- The sentencing for drivers found guilty of truly horrific driving offences is a joke.

Your astonished !! Really?.....do you live under a rock? ......it's summed up best, that in a thread about the drink driving 'limit' on this forum...there were a couple of people, literally bragging about drink driving, and plenty complaining about the limit being lowered....it defied belief!!

Landman season two
The MILF and her cheer leader daughter are good on the eye to say the least.
And Billy Bob is a great actor.
Another great by Taylor Sheridan.
I’m waiting for this to finish before I start it. Really hope it’s as good as the first which I thought was brilliant.

Just finished mobland which I enjoyed despite Helen mirren and piers Brosnan trying to ruin it with ridiculous over acting ans even more ridiculous accents. Brosnan sounded Welsh for half of it.
