I stopped watching it after the first 3 or 4 seasons because I thought it was repetitive, relied on shock value, and nowhere near as good as the Simpsons.
I started watching it again a few years ago and realised just how much better it had got. The political and social points they make are very funny and very biting. It went from a smutty cartoon about young boys to a razor-sharp social satire which wasn't afraid of taking anyone or anything on. Almost like Spitting Image at its best.

Theres a Danish version, which has the governor from Fortitude, playing the ginger's role, I havent watched it as i prefer not to read subtitles.
I do like my detectives to be a bit of a wrong un, most of the good ones arent squeaky clean or are nuts in some way. Linden is definitely nuts and Holder has issues too.

Started it about a month or so ago, the first 2 seasons are absolutely brilliant. i completely missed this when it first aired, never even heard anybody mention it but it's one of the best shows i've watched in years. had me completely gripped. Found myself staying up until the early hours on numerous occasions watching just one more episode. After the initial story concludes at the end of season 2 i took a break. not sure if season 3 will hold up, throughout the first 2 seasons it was all about the "who done it?" for me and whilst Linden and Holder are 2 good characters i'm just that bothered about their personal lives to start season 3
