Two faced city fans

There is a case for the club to be more flexible about away allocations for CL games, at least for the group stages which don't sell out.

But how would City fans react if the club voluntarily gave the away team an increased allocation? Say they'd given Gladbach the same allocation that the away fans get for a domestic cup tie? How would those seasoncard holders who had to move react? Wouldn't there be complaints about City sacrificing home advantage to make a few quid? Complaints from City fans whose United mates took the mickey out of us?
Well either way it seems City fans would be complaining - nothing new in that ;-) so go down the route that has less potential for violence.

I was in 104 and when the 3rd went in a city flag went up in the aisle and a couple of gladbach fans took offence, punches were thrown but nothing serious

There were some on the other side of me and another group infront too, both behaved and I have no issue with them being in the home end as their end was a sell out and it was probably also twice the price... The only problem with this is that these situations will always happen

There's not really much the club could do really, if they did increase away allocations you'd still get away fans in the home end to save a few quid, although probably nowhere near as many

That's pretty much what the club did last night mate, but they neglected to tell GMP, the stewards or the Blues who were "moved". When I say moved, I mean unofficially moved because there was a German in their allocated seat who wanted to be near their "official" supporters in the away end.

Lets face it, the Club royally fucked up last night, took the dollar and put rival fans in sections they shouldn't have. Selling tickets to BMG fans in the CITY singing section was asking for trouble and I think the majority of posters who got annoyed about this last night are pointing fingers at the Club and were not raining punches at innocent supporters, as some on here would have you believe.

There was a segregated section of away fans, then another hastily organised segregated area that appeared within the "home" sections most vociferous supporters. Then, at half time there was another segregation on the concourse, whilst it was decided what to do with them. Absolute shambles from the club.

And as much as the hand-wringers on here want to turn this into a "I'm a more tolerant new-age Blue than you" debate, it pissed people off last night, simple as that. No-ones condoning violence, no-ones been injured and the MATCH GOING Blues that witnessed the shambles in 115 have my total respect..

I have read the thread thanks Tim. The op was about punches being thrown due to them being in the City end.

My reply which you quoted was agreeing with the opinion that they should be able to cheer to their hearts content.

I think a couple of Broussia fans got their mullets tickled in a crowd of over 40k.

Plenty were let in Mary Ds that shows the hospitality our German friends received. There was certainly plenty of good will and hand shaking at the end!

Great effort from Broussia in terms of atmosphere created!

Me and my lad got stopped by security and was asked to produce match tickets and was asked were we was from before being able to grab a pint at Summerbees bar,But we was surrounded by BM fans in the family stand,Piss Take!

I sit in 214 near the front and had some lively discussions with Germans about vacating seats that weren't theirs and an interesting discussion with a big fat Focker on the front row making slit throat gestures to fans below but when i went to have a word with him he stopped that as he said he would rather not join them below the rest round us although annoying were decent people so not much mither good job really as only 2 coppers and no stewards if it had been same situation with Italians or Spanish the out come would have been different

Still want to know how they bought all those tickets in the home end. Were they on open sale to anyone calling?

I think its fairly obvious that there are two sides to this problem, if the away fans are in the home end goading city fans they deserve to be thrown out, if there are away fans in the city end who are having the craic and not causing a problem then they should be treated with respect. I'd imagine this is how most sane city fans would view it however there were a couple of knobs in 118 who were intent on causing a problem for a 60 odd year BMG fan who was causing no problem whatsoever luckily it seemed most City fans around them put them in their place.

There were BMG fans in our section of the east stand last night. I took issue with one of them as he was acting the twat and goading blues. Once the stewards had a word with him he behaved , but he shouldnt have been in there in the first place, as he clearly understand how to behave if you are in the wrong end.
